As a collector of Frank Sinatra autographs and memorabilia for 35 years, I am probably as qualified as anyone to say, “Rat Pack autographs, AUTHENTICALLY Signed together on one medium at the same time, are virtually Nonexistent" .. .. Because I have been on the lookout for such a rarity for the past 35 years. .As a matter of fact, we are almost certain a FULL set of ALL FIVE "Rat Pack" members PSA Certified GENUINE (Sinatra, Martin, Davis, Lawford, Bishop) autographs TOGETHER has never surfaced until Now! Certainly not one certified genuine by the top autograph authentication service PSA .
Oh sure, there have been countless secretarial signatures and outright forgeries from inexperienced and unscrupulous autograph sellers. But they all have the typical “red flags” of unnatural, fabricated autographs.. (Read our article "Ten Warning Signs a Dealer May Be Selling Autograph Forgeries")
But an unquestionable, AUTHENTIC specimen, certified genuine by the top autograph authentication company? It could takes decades, if ever, before one surfaces on the market.
If you were ever fortunate enough to acquire an AUTHENTIC set of Rat Pack autographs long before anyone ever knew the value and immense rarity, this is what they would look like...
Hardly the clean white paper of perfectly placed signatures of all Rat Pack members as though it was likely you would encounter them all by themselves , sober and willing to neatly sign their names, as most forgery example I have seen in the last 35 years..
No, in the real world, Frank Sinatra and friends would be warmed up, in full party mode, surrounded by other celebrities, late at night in a festive enough mood to sign anything (most of these A-Class celebrities loathed signing autographs for strangers).
There is probably no need for me to say “it is highly unlikely you will ever see an AUTHENTIC Rat Pack set of autographs on the same item ever again”, as it would be too trite. Or maybe in another 35 years ? Certainly not one like this that has been PSA Certified. Comes with PSA Full Letter of Authenticity
Vintage pencil signatures of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Lawford, Dean Martin, Joey Bishop, Lucille Ball (Green pen), Hedda Hopper (green pen), Edd Byrnes, and Dinah Shore on the reverse of an 8 x 5" postcard advertising the Donald O’Connor Show at the Sahara in Las Vegas. Scattered creases, vintage toned adhesive above Sinatra’s signature, a few tack holes, and paper loss to one corner tip, otherwise fine condition. Also, note all the signatures are in great clean locations, not interfering or intersecting with other signatures, except for Peter Lawford in which Lucille Ball signed over part of his last name. But all signatures have great contrast and did not suffer from the fading often associated with vintage ink. "Frank Sinatra" is particularly bold.
Original owner/recipient notes that this was originally signed at a bar during a wrap-up party for Ocean’s 11.
