Frank Sinatra's Cal Neva Ashtray Rare

Frank Sinatra's Cal Neva Lodge Ashtray

Rare piece of Sinatra history.  Would be great to go with the original Frank Sinatra Cal Neva cigarette lighter we currently have (see below: We Also Recommend).

Here is a great collectors item from the days when Frank Sinatra owned the casino at Lake Tahoe on the border of California and Nevada called Cal-Neva Lodge. It was a short, almost three year time (1960-1963), that Frank owned the club before his gaming license was removed for allowing gangsters into come into the club.
From 1960 to 1963 the Cal-Neva was THE place to be. There were great acts performing, it was a Hollywood hangout, and of course the mob members were there too. There were secret underground tunnels to get people in and out, a helicopter landing pad, and luxurious cabins on the property.

This little ashtray brings back all the memories!  It measures 4 1/2" across and is in very good condition.  GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC for Life.

UPDATE:

We have recently been informed many of these Cal Neva ashtrays are beign reproduced.  Below are the details for detecting the fakes.

NOTE: The specimen we offer here passes all the tests as being the genuine 1960's Cal Neva ashtray.

The fakes are easily identified by turning the ashtray upside down and examining the silk-screened logo printing. On fake Frank Sinatra CNL ashtrays, the logo will be completely white as compared to a real Frank Sinatra logo ashtray from the 1960’s which shows brown lettering interlaid with the white background. (see the photo below).

Further verification of fakes can be made with a 10x loupe where the actual silk pattern can be seen. The originals do not have this checkerboard-type impression and appear completely smooth.

Another major identification characteristic is the ashtray rim whose original style was very unique and no longer available on modern cheap and generic imports. The genuine <older> ashtray edge is actually composed of a distinctive lipped or indented curve, as shown in the picture below. The fakes will have a completely rounded rim with no lip or indentation. (see the photo below).
