Breath-taking poster AND image of Tom Mix.   Large size poster to promote his Circus.  Very good condition and has been professionally linen backed.  Looks amazing!  The first we have ever seen of this poster in 34 years collecting.

Tom Mix Circus Poster (Late 1930s). Poster (27.5" X 42").
With his finely honed sense of flash and style, Tom Mix was one of the biggest Western stars of the silent era. Mix originally entered Hollywood as a horse wrangler, but soon began appearing in, and then starring in, pictures as well. Quickly becoming the top film cowboy of his day, Mix was riding high until the coming of sound. Uncomfortable with the new medium, he made a handful of talkies for Universal, and a blockbuster serial, The Miracle Rider(1935), for Mascot before retiring from filmmaking. He then put his superb showmanship skills to good use, touring with his own Tom Mix Circus from 1936 to 1938. Mix died in a tragic automobile accident in 1940, leaving an incredible legacy behind him. Looking the part of dashing impresario, Mix stands grinning at his adoring fans, dressed head-to-toe in gleaming white on this stone litho beauty. Rich color fills the poster, and touchup has been applied to borders and folds to address tears and chips, and light vintage tape stains can be detected in the top and bottom border. Very Fine- on Linen.
