On Saturday, March 23, 2019 an Original "Wizard of OZ" Half Sheet sold at auction for $108,000. We don't have a 1939 half sheet, but we have the next best thing, a 1949 re-release Half Sheet , with spectacular artwork and graphics that many collectors think surpasses the 1939 release half sheet.

Extremely RARE ORIGINAL Wizard of Oz half sheet from the 1949 re-release. It is not very Unlikely you will see this original poster again anytime soon. It is only the 2nd time in 40 years collecting that we've owned it and one other has ever been sold, by a major auction house.
Condition:
This Oz treasure is in Very good-Excellent 100% UNrestored condition with border wear. With exceptionally bright colors and stunning Oz graphics. Some of border edges are tattered and have paper tape on reverse for reinforcement, which is easily fixed with minor restoration. However, looks great and presentable as is !
NOTE: We had this half sheet about a year ago, but the colors were a bit faded, was originally folded and it required restoration. This Beauty as you can see has exceptionally bright colors. PLUS, it was Never folded which is Very Rare as 80% of all half sheets were folded prior to sending to theaters before the 1980s. Hence, it has none of the horizontal and vertical fold creases.
This is a VERY RARE opportunity to own one of the most magnificent pieces of Cinematic History ! A must have for the Oz, Classic Hollywood or Judy Garland collector!

This is the Rarely seen B Style half sheet from the 1949 re-release of The Wizard of Oz which focuses on the wonderful spectacle of the beloved fantasy classic with images of Dorothy (Judy Garland) and the friends she meets along the yellow brick road. Pictured along with Dorothy are the Scarecrow (Ray Bolger), the Tin Man (Jack Haley), the Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr), and the Wizard of Oz himself (Frank Morgan) from memorable scenes in the film. A rare opportunity to collect this whimsical memento of Dorothy's journey. The poster displays edge wear, creasing, scuffs, mild tears, pinholes. There are also smudges, unobtrusive stains, and some light toning on the poster's edges. On the verso are multiple strips of paper and masking tape, as well as ink stamps and remnants from a couple of stickers.
