Holiday Inn, 1952
Original Vintage Movie Poster One Sheet
Starring Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby

The most requested classic Holiday movie poster in our 37 years collecting & selling vintage film memorabilia.    A RARE Find!

Here is one of the most desirable and maybe the most sought after Classic Holiday poster ...  And, finally after decades we have finally acquired an ORIGINAL 1942 one sheet for "Holiday Inn".    An extraordinary piece of Hollywood history.    And the vintage movie artwork is equally spectacular.

This is one of the most rare of all the classic Christmas movie posters.
This is primarily due to the WWII paper drives in which move theater owners donated all movie paper . Hence, very few of these survived and are highly sought after by collectors and classic movie fans.    This scarce treasure had some issues with fold tears, a stain near top border and small piece torn from lower right corner.   It it is currently being  professionally linen backed and will no doubt look amazing.  A gem of a find for the exclusive collector and/or fan of this iconic Christmas classic.     If you are one of our customers who have asked about this poster over the past several years,  you don't need me to tell you this is a small window of opportunity not likely to repeat itself anytime soon, if ever.

Holiday Inn (Paramount, 1942). One Sheet (27" X 41").
In one of the most popular musicals of all time, Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby join forces for the first time as a song-and-dance team who, after Bing retires, open an inn that is only open on holidays. Irving Berlin got the idea for the film after writing the song "Easter Parade" for his 1933 show As Thousands Cheer. He later pitched the idea to producer Mark Sandrich, who got the ball rolling. This film will always be remembered as the one in which the immortal song "White Christmas" was introduced and sung by Crosby. But it also happens to be one of the most entertaining and delightful musicals ever to come out of Hollywood. Astaire and Crosby bring all their many talents to this wonderful film, abetted by the charming Marjorie Reynolds and Virginia Dale. Other songs (all composed by Berlin) include "Be Careful, It's My Heart," "Easter Parade," and "Abraham."

There was edge wear with tears, small border chips including about a 2" piece out of the right corner border tip.  Also had a large stain near top border which was touched up.  , and tears on the folds with crossfold separation. There is touchup to the folds.   That said, the main image area and colors were not affected much and the original colors are vibrant, no fading.    It it is currently being  professionally linen backed and will no doubt look amazing.  A gem of a find for the exclusive collector and/or fan of this iconic Christmas classic.
