Marilyn Monroe & Betty Grable
Original Vintage First Generation Photo, 1953

This is a first generation photo taken in 1953 in London while Marilyn Monroe and Betty Grable were promoting their 1953 hit film "How to Marry a Millionaire".   Apparently , taken as they were both walking out their hotel room or maybe dressing rooms.  A terrific candid photo that captures a special unstaged image of the two superstar beauties!   Although as this photo proves it is hard for even a beauty like Betty Grable to compete with Marilyn's stunning presence..   !

Also, has the original news stamp on back from London's "Planet News"
* See enlargeable images above and below

How to Marry a Millionaire, the 1953 Jean Negulesco romantic comedy ("The Most Glamorous Entertainment Of Your Lifetime in CinemaScope, You See it Without Glasses!"; "Based on plays by Zoe Akins and Dale Eunson and Katherine Albert"; filmed in CinemaScope) starring Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable, Lauren Bacall, David Wayne, Rory Calhoun, Cameron Mitchell, Alex D'Arcy, Fred Clark, and William Powell

PROVENANCE:  Note that this English news photo measures 8 1/4" x 10" . Also, note that this still of Betty Grable has a wonderful provenance! It was acquired  from the granddaughter of the lady who ran the Betty Grable fan club in the 1950s, and she developed a close friendship with Ms. Grable, and she was given a large number of first release stills.
