We don't see many of these very early Pre "Stagecoach" John Wayne stone-litho vintage movie posters. But when we do, they give us goose bumps!  Simply breath-taking artwork of an early 20's year old "Duke"!   What else needs to be said?  * See the enlargeable images above and below..

The poster exhibits some tanning and slight brittleness. There are small holes around the border in several areas and some fraying to the border. Otherwise quite amazing 100% UN-Restored condition for an 80 year old movie poster!  And, you always have the option of having it professionally linen backed.  But, we personally love the original unrestored status.

The legend is told that, right about the time that John Wayne's old friend John Ford pulled him out of line to star in his Western Stagecoach (1939), he was about to give up the acting game as he felt he wasn't making any headway! He had starred in about ninety "B" Westerns between his big break in The Big Trail (1930) until his call by Ford. He was averaging ten small features a year! He would later become the biggest star of the Western genre in the following four decades. This is an early reissue stone litho poster which was believed to have been reissued after Wayne made his big splash in Stagecoach. The poster exhibits some tanning and slight brittleness.
