"Wall Street Cowboy", 1939
Original One Sheet (27x41") - Linen Backed
Starring Roy Rogers

Maybe the best Roy Rogers original vintage movie poster we have ever acquired in 25 years of collecting. An early Roy Rogers Republic feature. The artwork and close-up is spectacular. This gem has been professionally linen backed and will no doubt look amazing, ready for your wall. Very RARE Poster to acquire.

Roy Rogers was called the "King of the Cowboys" during his long career as a folksy singing hero of movies and TV. He was an original member of the cowboy singing group The Sons of the Pioneers, and in 1937 he signed on with Republic Pictures, replacing their departing star Gene Autry. He starred in more than 80 westerns with titles like The Arizona Kid (1939) and In Old Cheyenne (1941). He often co-starred with cowgirl Dale Evans whom he married in 1947. Rogers's famous horse was Trigger, a Palomino stallion with flowing white mane who became a favorite with Rogers's fans. In the 1950s Rogers moved into TV with the The Roy Rogers Show. His theme song with Dale Evans was the gentle and cheery "Happy Trails to You."

Molybdenum is a hard, gray metallic element used to toughen alloy steels and soften tungsten alloy. It is also used in fertilizers, dyes and enamels. Well, anyway, Roy's ranch is full of the stuff and an evil Wall Street syndicate wants to foreclose on the ranch when Roy has trouble making his mortgage payment.

Roy Rogers (Roy Rogers) goes back east, with his two pals Gabby (George Hayes) and Chuckawalla (Raymond Hatton), to try and raise funds to pay off the mortgage on his ranch. He approaches an old friend of his father's, Roger Hammond (Pierre Watkin), a Wall Street financier, but meets with a rebuff due to the fumbling tactics of his two well-meaning friends, and the machinations of Hammond's race-horse trainer, Tony McGrath (Craig Reynolds), who is working with a gang back west, headed by Miles (Ivan Miller) and Bainbridge (Reginald Barlow), to take over the ranch because of the rich mineral deposits on the property that Roy is unaware of. Roy sings "Me and the Rollin' Sand," "Ridin' Down the Rainbow Trail" and "Ride 'em Cowboy" and Louisiana Lou kicks in with "That's My Louisiana."
