ORVILLE WRIGHT signed flight log '30 on time sheet from Curtiss-Wright airport in California!

Orville Wright, who was an aviator and inventor in the early 1900s. Along with his brother Wilbur, was credited with building the world's first successful airplane and making the first controlled, powered, and sustained heavier-than-air manned flight on December 17, 1903 at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. They did not "invent" the airplane, but they made important modifications to what had been previously created. They sold their patents to the Curtiss-Wright company. Wilbur passed away in 1912, and Orville lived until 1948.

Note that this flight log (titled "Airport Register") lists the airplanes that were at the Curtiss-Wright Grand Central Air Terminal on January 16, 1930 to February 1, 1930 (half of the entries are on the back, as shown in our image), giving their name, and much information about their planes, and each of the pilots signed their entry. Orville Wright solely signed his entry, and put ditto marks in all the other fields, except for the date and time of arrival (as did one of the other members of his party of three).
