1895 Baltimore Orioles Vs. New York Giants Vintage Baseball Program


One of the most significant pieces of sports history we have ever acquired.   Seasoned collectors know the utmost rarity and significance of any 19th century memorabilia relating to major league baseball teams.   Here is the earliest program/scorecard we have ever seen in 30 years collecting.

1895 Baltimore Orioles Vs. New York Giants Program. Offered here is an amazing and exceedingly rare original scorecard from an 1895 game between the Baltimore Orioles and New York Giants. Chalked full of HOFers, it consists of 8 two-sided pages, while they are split down the middle of the binding. Other than that defect, it remains in decent condition (typical edge wear and toning).  

Included inside are nice vintage portrait images of Baltimore Pitchers George E Hemming (See his Wiki Page)  and Charles Esper (see his Wiki page)..

Below are some of the Hall of Famers listed on the scorecard.    You can find additional info on the  Hall of Fame List..

John McGraw was born on Monday, April 7, 1873, in Truxton, New York. McGraw was 18 years old when he broke into the big leagues on August 26, 1891, with the Baltimore Orioles.

Willie Keeler was born on Sunday, March 3, 1872, in Brooklyn, New York. Keeler was 20 years old when he broke into the big leagues on September 30, 1892, with the New York Giants

Hughie Jennings was born on Friday, April 2, 1869, in Pittston, Pennsylvania. Jennings was 22 years old when he broke into the big leagues on June 1, 1891, with the Louisville Colonels. He was traded ot the Baltimore Orioles in 1893.

Wilbert Robinson was born on Wednesday, June 29, 1864, in Bolton, Massachusetts. Robinson was 21 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 19, 1886, with the Philadelphia Athletics.  He was traded to the Baltimore Orioles in 1890..
