Harold Green is an elusive artist who's work scarcely surfaces in the marketplace. But, when it does seasoned collectors are sure to take notice. Here is one of TWO striking portraits we are offering from this artist. An artist who exhibits an extraordinary skill is capturing the genuine essence of his subjects. This piece identified as "Reverend Hiram Arms". Early 20th Century. This piece along with the other Green portrait we are offering here on our site were both exhibited at the 1926 Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts Sixteenth Annual Exhibition.

Unsigned but clearly identified as Harold Green. Includes provenance from original owner.

Size: 24x27" unframed, 30x34" framed.

BIO:
Harold Abbott Green was born in Montreal in 1883 and died in Hartford, Connecticut in 1969 where he studied art under Robert Brandegee and Charles Flagg.

Known for impressionistic landscapes and seascapes as well as genre scenes. Many of his beach and boat scenes were painted along the Rhode Island shoreline from 1915 to 1930 during summer vacations.

He was a member of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts and exhibited at the Wadsworth Athenaeum, where he won a prize in 1918.
