Marilyn Monroe Photo
by George Barris

Stunning and Highly Scarce photo of Marilyn Monroe in very personal setting and time period.

Marilyn Monroe by George Barris (Edward Weston Edition,1987 ). Autographed Photo (11" X 14"). Color, single weight, glossy photo. Noted photographer George Barris was granted personal photo sessions with screen legend Marilyn Monroe on the set of her final, unfinished film Something's Got to Give in 1962, and later photographed her along the Santa Monica shore. Barris was not just her photographer, but also a close friend, and what resulted from these sessions are some of the most frank, free-spirited, and poignant images of the 36 year-old actress, which would later be used by Barris in his book Marilyn- Her Life in her Own Words. The photos are some of the last images taken of Monroe before her death, and are extremely scarce and collectable. Barris held off publishing them until 25 years after her death-- this photo is from the 1987 Edward Weston Gallery Edition. Recto: Signed in black marker "George Barris." Verso: Edward Weston Collection copyright stamp and signed in red ink "George Barris." Near Mint-.
