Angels with Dirty Faces
Original Vintage Lobby Card Movie Poster (11x14")
Starring James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart

Incredibly popular crime drama with some of the biggest stars of the Golden Era.   Very rarely does any movie promotional paper surface for this film. Only one 1938 one sheet has ever surfaced on the market and sold for over $13,000.  And only one 1943 re-release poster has ever been found and we have it.  Coincidentally like our one sheet this lobby card also originated from Canada where they have the faded Canadian censor stamps.    This lobby card is one of the best of the set with the best image of Cagney, which was used on the one sheets.  It is in very good condition with border pin holes and rough edges. Also has a censor stamp in upper right near border.    That said, an extremely Rare lobby card.

Angels with Dirty Faces (Warner Brothers, R-1943). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). Crime.
Starring James Cagney, Pat O'Brien, Humphrey Bogart, Ann Sheridan, George Bancroft, Billy Halop, Bobby Jordan, Leo Gorcey, Gabriel Dell, Huntz Hall, Bernard Punsly, and Joe Downing. Directed by Michael Curtiz.

Warner Brothers pulled out all the top guns for this hard-hitting crime drama with studio stars James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, George Bancroft, and genius director Michael Curtiz. Growing up on the mean streets of New York, Rocky Sullivan (Cagney) is incarcerated early on for petty crimes and chooses the life of a gangster, becoming something of a local hero to the next generation of hoodlums, played here by the Dead End Kids -- Leo Gorcey, Billy Halop, and Huntz Hall. From his classic line "Whadda ya hear, whadda ya say?"' to his final scene of panicked crying as he is led to the electric chair, Cagney is simply riveting and deservedly earned his first Academy Award nomination for his performance. Pat O'Brien stars as Rocky's childhood friend who grows up to be a priest, tasked with saving the boys from the temptation of crime, and Ann Sheridan is the local girl-next-door. The film was an instant success, helping the careers of all involved.
