Gorgeous 27x41” poster printed by The Donaldson Litho Co. c. 1905. Poster features many different images of sideshow-type acts including sword swallowing, table leg swallowing, bayonet swallowing, electric light swallowing, dagger tossing, etc. Great image of “Victorina And His Astonishing Feat Of Lifting A Springfield Rifle And Whirling It About In Mid-Air By Swallowing The Bayonet.” Another great scene shows “Most Stupendous And Incredible Act Devised By Man! Victorina Loads A Gun With Powder And Ball, Swallows The Gun Barrel Two Feet Down His Throat And Then Discharges It Breaking With A Single Bullet A One Inch Glass Ball On His Child’s Head.” Billed as “The Most Marvelous Sword Swallowing Act On Earth,” the Victorina troupe performed with circuses during circus season, and performed theater shows during the off-season.

We have seen only reproductions of this poster, but this is the first time we have ever seen and acquired an ORIGINAL.

Condition.  Has a lot of wear on borders, some tape pn back of poster at corner and some were fold lines use to be.  Has been framed for several year hence fold lines no longer visible.  Will shipped rolled.   Would look incredible linen backed.
Also, has a snipe over the title word "Victorina" which reads "SEE KAR-MI". Kar-Mi was a famous Magician who performed at the turn of the 20th century.   If you choose to remove the snipe it would be very easy for a linen backer to do.
