Seven Year Itch - Marilyn Monroe Vintage Title Lobby Card, 1955

The title lobby card is theater used, but in very good condition. The main graphic image is the iconic of the subway grate blowing Monroe's dress upward, exposing her legs. There are five small tape stains on the edges, where tape was used, and later removed (which we think gives it an added touch of authenticity). There are two staple marks and about seven pin holes in the upper black background above the title. The reverse side of the card has a screen service stamp and a few numbers written that do NOT affect the front in any way. There are no other tears, fading, stains, smudges, missing paper, fading, folds, or pin holes. There has been NO restoration. The colors are richer and brighter, than the poor JPEG image suggests.

Also, this title card is very elusive in the market place and rarely comes up for sale. It is the first Title Card we have acquired from this classic in over 25 years of collecting.

The Seven Year Itch (20th Century Fox, 1955). Title Lobby Card (11" X 14"). If there's a more iconic image of Marilyn Monroe than that of her skirt blowing up around her as seen on this fabulous lobby card, we have yet to see it! This particular scene in the film was originally shot on location at Lexington and 52nd Street in Manhattan, but the cheers and whistles of the bemused passers-by, all of which only served to anger and embarrass Monroe's then-husband Joe DiMaggio, made the footage unusable. Director Billy Wilder rebuilt the location on the 20th Century Fox lot and reshot the scene, which required more than 40 takes for Monroe to get it right.

NOTE: This Title Card sold at Heritage Auctions in July of 2008 for $1200, with the following condition report: (note our title card offering has NO restoration at all, 100% Original):
"This card was misdescribed as being Mint when in fact it has had restoration work which included pinholes in the corners and several in the image. The borders have had airbrush work and there is a small tear in the left border which slightly extends into the image."

This is an extraordinary piece of Hollywood history. A stunning one sheet movie poster for this James Cagney “Gangster” classic. It also features a relatively little known Humphrey Bogart. What is also amazing is that this is exactly the same artwork as the original 1938 release. The only difference is a “RERELEASED” stamp under the credits. We have not found this particular one sheet “Rerelease” ever appearing on the market prior to this (please let us know otherwise). The opinion from a number of collectors and dealers we have spoken to is that this IS actually a 1938 poster with a "Rerelease" stamp. Or the same 1938 plate was used. This particular poster was re-used in the early 1940’s.

** TWO major collectors/dealers have confirmed this is even MORE Rare than the 1938 release because all of these would have been destroyed during the WWII paper-drives. This one being found in Canada explains its surprising survival.

Also this poster was acquired from a collector in Canada. Because the Canadian Government banned the use of guns in promotional material, i.e. movie posters, in the 1930’s/40’s the gun had been censured by painting over it. Hence, the gun was professional restored.

Restoration is as follows: James Cagney's gunned was restored. The man in the upper right (one of the "Dead End Kids") has some restoration above his nose due to fold tears. Leo Gorcey has some touch-up to his forehead due to fold tears and reverse tape removal. And some overall touch up to fold lines. This one sheet has also been beautifully professionally linen backed. That being said, this poster has amazingly retained it’s bright , striking colors and as you can see the breath-taking artwork of some of the most important movie stars of the 20^th century.

BIO:

Throughout the 1930's, Warner Brothers delivered many quality crime and gangster dramas that usually featured the likes of the studio's distinguished contract star roster. This 1938 release is one of the prime examples. James Cagney and Pat O'Brien (who were frequently cast in films together and this is their best one together) portray boyhood buddies who reunite years later after Cagney is released from prison where he had served for many years for a petty crime that he committed while he was still a kid. Cagney has not learned his lesson that crime doesn't pay and so he returns to his old neighborhood to set up his criminal hideout. Meanwhile, his old friend, O'Brien has given up being a street hood and has since become a respected priest who naturally doesn't think highly of the life that his friend has chosen for himself. To make matters worse, six young boys (portrayed by the Dead End Kids) whom O'Brien is trying to lead down the right paths begin to idolize Cagney. Humphrey Bogart also appears in a pre big box office star part as a lawyer and screen veteran George Bancroft also costars as a dishonest crime boss. Michael Curtiz' direction and Max Steiner's musical score are also highlights. This film is one of the all time great ones of the 1930's and an excellent showcase for its legendary cast and crew.

This incredible picture, in which two childhood friends take very different paths in life, features one of James Cagney's very best roles. As Rocky Sullivan, Cagney plays a big shot gangster who becomes a local hero to a gang of youths (The Dead End Kids). Rocky's old friend, Father Jerry Connelly (Pat O'Brien), tries to convince Rocky to help him save the kids from a life of crime. The final scene, in which Rocky seems to turn yellow on his way to the electric chair - was Rocky really scared, or did he do it for the kids? - is a masterpiece of ambiguity. Rounding out the stellar cast is Humphrey Bogart, who co-stars as the crooked James Frazier, and Ann Sheridan, who plays Laury Ferguson, Rocky's angelic girlfriend. As one of Warner Brothers' top gangster films of the 1930s, paper from this title is considered extremely collectible. It is also exceedingly rare. Fantastic and scarce original title card for James Stewart's most adored classic. Excellent + Condition! Of all the advertsiing paper for this title, the Title card has always been my favorite because the artwork is superior to the other posters such as the one sheet, half sheet, etc. Just great images of Stewart sittting with Harvey along with all the cast members looking on in horror!

Dowd, a wealthy and eccentric drunk who sees an imaginary rabbit, a claim that raises the eyebrows of local townspeople. Although his sister (Josephine Hull, in an Oscar-winning turn) occasionally sees him too, Stewart's imaginary friend begins to interfere with her plan to find a suitable husband for her daughter.

Here it is ! The title card I've waited 30 years to acquire. This card is so rare it is estimated that for every 10-15 one sheets that appear on the market for this film, ONLY ONE Title Card surfaces for collectors to have a shot at acquiring.   For whatever reason the lobby cards for this film are highly scarce, and the title card even more so. As a matter of fact the largest movie poster auction house in the country has NEVER had a title card for sale.

There are so many reasons I love this title card. The fact George Reeves was the quintessential Superman is obvious, But in addition, the colors, graphics and artwork are just spectacular. And, this particular card is in quite exceptional condition with no holes, tears, stains or other damage. Only the slightest signs of use and vintage toning, just what you’d expect to see on an ORIGINAL lobby card from this era.   And, the colors are about as bright and spectacular as you will ever see!

This is the only one we have acquired in 30 years of collecting and only one of a handful we have ever seen for sale. A stunning piece of Hollywood History! And a priceless acquisition for any Superman or George Reeves fan/collector!

After three years and several customers asking, we have finally acquired a lobby card from this historic classic. No introduction is necessary here. One of the most beloved classics of all time! For the past several years it has become an annual Christmas event. Millions watch it every year and can't wait until next year when they can see it again. To this day the only other comparable classic to command such annual devotion is "The Wizard of Oz" . Not even "Gone with the Wind" has resulted in the demand and remarkable global popularity as these two classics. And some may argue that not even OZ hits the emotional cord as powerful as A Wonderful Life.

Here is an Original lobby card movie poster used to promote the original showing of this epic holiday classic back in 1946. Before the days of monopolized movie theatres (i.e. Showcase Cinemas) lobby cards were a very important promotional medium to entice theatre goers with scenes of upcoming movies. Eight were produced in a set (seven scene cards and one title card) and were displayed in an illuminated showcase so people could get a teaser of the movie.

Original Lobby cards are 11x14” and made of a heavier paper (then one sheets). This card is in Near Mint condition. The colors are extremely vivid and the vintage artwork is stunning. You are highly unlikely to find another in such spectacular condition!

It has been over three years since we have been able to acquire a lobby card from this title. We were recently fortunate enough to find this beauty!!

CONDITION: NEAR MINT! The best we've ever seen.

Superman and the Mole Men (Lippert, 1951). One Sheet (27" X 41"). When an oil drilling expedition burrows into their underground home, the Mole Men emerge and begin exploring the strange world of the Earth's surface. Their strange appearance causes nearby townspeople to panic and form a mob lead by local hothead Luke Benson (Jeff Corey). Superman and Lois Lane (George Reeves and Phyllis Coates) must act quickly to keep the peace between the locals and the subterranean aliens.
Before he became the hero of television, George Reeves made his first appearance as The Man of Steel in this feature. The film was a huge success and led to Reeves being cast as the iconic superhero from 1951 to 1957. This is one of the toughest comic book-related posters to find! It is the first we have had in 20 years.

Stunning artwork and graphics. Excellent condition. Great bright colors. Has some touch up to the fold lines. Has been beautifully professionally linen backed.
This is the poster many movie poster collectors and most Superman/comic collectors spend a lifetime looking for. Altough we have had the "French" release of this poster, this is the FIRST U.S. release version we have acquired. There are currently two of these posters on eBay. One is $5500 and the other is $10000.

Here it is! The most spectacular Holiday film of all time. The original one sheet poster with all it's terrific artwork and graphics. Nice condition with some minor flaws and wear.

Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye play army buddies who find success as a song-and-dance team. They fall for a pair of beautiful sisters (Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen) and follow them to a Vermont lodge, where they discover their old army general is the owner. Irving Berlin contributes the memorable score (though the title tune had previously been introduced in Holiday Inn more than a decade earlier). In 1953, Fred Astaire decided to "retire" from films leaving a hole in the cast of White Christmas. The part was then re-written for Donald O'Connor, but he also bailed on the project. Finally, in a move that saved the project, Danny Kaye was selected as a zero-hour replacement. Kaye and co-star Bing Crosby are featured on this festive one sheet with Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen, from a Christmas favorite for the last 55 years! Offered here is the wonderful one sheet, featuring the four stars in all their glory.
The poster is in lovely condition. Just minor border wear. some corner pinholes and a small chip out of the top left border

Wow! I can't tell you how excited we are for the first time in 30 years of collecting (yes , I collected my first movie poster in 1980 while in the Navy) to have acquired one of the most scarce and highly sought after movie memorabilia treasures, an Original 1942 “Casablanca” lobby card. It is simply stunning. A most memorable scene with Bogie and Peter Lorre.    We have offered the 1950's re-releases over the years but never an original from 1942.

This gem is in very good-excellent condition with only minor flaws that could easily be addressed with minor professional touch up (but I personally prefer to have it as is). There are pinholes on the corner borders and minor staining on bottom border. That said, it looks fantastic! And, we are proud to be able to offer it to you.   (I debated with my wife to keep it in my own collection, but I lost :{ ).

It just sold at Heritage in March 2008 for $7200.
The second 1949 "OZ" Title Card we have acquired in 20+ years of collecting. The first one we acquired a year ago and sold. Here's is another RARE opportunity, while it lasts!

It is on a rare occasion we acquire one of these 1949 re-release OZ lobby cards. We always believed they were superior to the original 1939 cards, the color, artwork , graphics are just spectacular. For many years we thought these 49 lobby cards were our little secret. That changed last year when eight cards were sold separately at auction for record prices. The prices shocked everyone. One sold for over $4200! Even more then the original 1939 cards. Our little secret was no longer. The rest of the collecting world apparently discovered these extraordinary treasures.

Here we are offering the STUNNING Title Card. As you can see the artwork is just magnificent! A BEAUTY! And, is INDEED, THE card that sold for over $7200 at Heritage in March 2008. Be sure to check the other cards from this set.   After we sold one of these last year, we had several collectors who asked if we would ever acquire another. I responded, if ever maybe several years, as I never imagined such an opportunity would surface so soon. But, of course we always have eager to buy requests for sold out items, then when we do acquire, those same collectors seem to disappear. It's just human nature to "want" what we can't have.

Absolutely gorgeous vintage Sherlock Holmes one sheet with brilliant colors and stunning artwork. If you are a Holmes collector this is a must for your collection! Be sure to see our other Sherlock Holmes treasures.

Pursuit to Algiers (Universal, 1945). One Sheet (27" X 41").
After the assassination of his father, Prince Nikolas (Leslie Vincent), heir to a European throne, is escorted home by Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) and Dr. Watson (Nigel Bruce), who must keep the young man safe from any number of conspirators out to exterminate him. The striking one sheet offered here had pinholes in the corners, and a tear in Rathbone's shoulder. This poster is in excellent condition. It had a couple tears prior to linen backing which are now virtually undetectable without close inspection. That said, the attractiveness of this great poster is undimmed, and it is ready to be displayed proudly. Professionally linen backed.

This poster is what makes VINTAGE Movie Poster collecting so exciting. Unlike today where posters are computer generated, posters prior to 1980 (especially prior to 1960) were created by talented artists, some of which went on to become famous , highly sought after artists.   Look at the creativity and personality of this poster and try and find anything close compared to today’s movie posters that are basically nothing but Photoshop projects.

The only one we know of to appear on the market for the last several years was one auctioned off by Christies in March of 2000 for $2382.

This stunning vintage piece is in excellent condition and has been professionally linen backed. One of the most reputable movie poster dealers in the US told me that this is the "teaser" style which was released before the movie opened. One of Walt Disney's most ambitious projects, this timeless film - in which top-notch animation is artfully blended with pieces of classical music - was a box office disappointment upon its initial release. It wasn't until the 1969 re-release - and the surge of interest in the film's psychedelic imagery - that the movie took its rightful place among the ranks of Disney's greatest pictures. The rare and highly desirable Title lobby card offered here has pinholes in the corners, borders and some in the image area. It also has light creasing near title that is barely noticable unless you are looking fo rit. .

That said, the colors and artwork are amazing! Furthermore, this is not just a major piece of Hollywood and Disney history, but it is highly scarce as you are not likely to find another. The two main movie poster auction houses have never offered one.

Extremely Scarce vintage poster for this highly popular animated classic. Casper was created in the late 1930s by Seymour Reit and Joe Oriolo. Paramount started Casper the Friendly Ghost series in 1950, and ran the theatrical releases until the summer of 1959. There is hardly a babyboomer today that does not, as a child, remember "Casper the Friendly Ghost".

After Max and Dave Fleischer were forced out of Paramount, the only noteworthy character the studio developed was Casper the Friendly Ghost. Other than Boo Moon, a 3-D short from 1953, this is the only color one sheet, and the only stock sheet to feature the character by himself!

This is the first time we have acquired this poster in 25 years of collecting. It is not surprising this poster often sells for over $3000 at auction and even more from large dealers.

Condition: Very good, has some minor pinholes on corner area, but does not detract from the beauty and color of this very rare masterpiece movie poster art. This gem has been professioanlly linen backed.

A surviving treasure from a long lost Charlie Chan classic. Terrfiic artwork of Charlie Chan/Warner Oland.
Warner Oland's third excursion as the Chinese detective, this early talkie features a plot in which Chan himself was the intended victim of a murder, but escaped, while another man was killed. He has to fend off the inquiries of both Scotland Yard and the New York police while he tracks down the killer. Unique in the series as being the only Chan film to have the involvement of creator Earl Derr Biggers (credited with "added suggestions"), this is a lost film, much to the chagrin of many Chan enthusiasts. What's not lost is this fantastic lobby card with a terrific image of Oland in a tuxedo.
Charlie Chan's Chance (Fox, 1932). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). Mystery.
Starring Warner Oland, Alexander Kirkland, Ralph Morgan, H.B. Warner, Marian Nixon, Linda Watkins, James Kirkwood, James Todd, and Charles McNaughton. Directed by John G. Blystone. An unrestored lobby card that displays signs of average wear and use, including signs of age, pinholes, or staining. There is paper loss and writing on the reverse of the lobby card. The area of wear is mostly on the borders. That said, this Highly rare lobby card is one you will not see on the market again. It was from one of the first early Chan episodes and unfortunately the film has been lost.

In over 25 years of collecting this is the first time we have ever seen this lobby card set. The one sheet has appeared on the market now and then, but the lobby card set is almost non-existent. In addition, this lobby card set is simply Stunning! The quality, colors, images of Bruce Lee are incredible and the best you will ever see! There are Eight lobby cards in the set depicting action scenes from the movie.

AND, unlike most movie poster lobby card sets, Bruce Lee is in EVERY lobby card scene (often the main star only appeared in 3-4 of the cards, sometimes less). The cards are mostly in excellent condition with the exception of a few that have a scratch which you can see in the images. But, the scratch is in the dark part of the card such as dark clothing and could easily be touched up tp disappear, as no major artwork or graphics such as faces are affected. This is truly a rare and exceptional find! Guaranteed authentic original for life.

Here is an Original lobby card movie poster used to promote the original showing of this epic holiday classic back in 1946. Before the days of monopolized movie theatres (i.e. Showcase Cinemas) lobby cards were a very important promotional medium to entice theatre goers with scenes of upcoming movies. Eight were produced in a set (seven scene cards and one title card) and were displayed in an illuminated showcase so people could get a teaser of the movie.

Original Lobby cards are 11x14” and made of a heavier paper (then one sheets). This card is in Excellent + condition. Some minor professional repairs including filled-in corner pinholes, and minor border repairs. The colors are extremely vivid and the vintage artwork is stunning. You are highly unlikely to find another in such spectacular condition!

Many consider the quality of the 1949 lobby cards and movie posters to be superior to the original 1939 release posters .

One of our best selling titles. This is the first 3 Sheet we have ever acquired for this title. Great graphics and artwork of the main characters. High Society (Allied Artists, 1955). Three Sheet (41" X 81").
They're all together for the first time: Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly, and Frank Sinatra, and just in the nick of time -- this was Kelly's final film before retiring forever to become the first lady of Monaco. The score by Cole Porter is first-rate, and includes the lovely "True Love," which gave Grace her first (and only) platinum record. This bright, attractive unrestored poster has pinholes in the corners and field (some enlarged), fold wear with one separation in the art area, and crossfold separations. These minor flaws would be rendered invisible with linen backing. The poster retains superb color and clarity, and presents beautifully. Fine+.

This is an incredible find of this 45 year old poster. We have been fortunate enough to acquire this Unused poster that was discovered by a long time collector and dealer of rock and roll memorabilia in the mid 1970’s. To see a one sheet "Help" in this condition, is UNHEARD OF!

This gem is Tri-folded meaning only TWO folds and NO vertical folds at all. Most all posters prior to 1980 were quad folded. Also, the "Help" one sheet posters for whatever reason are known to be found faded when up for auction. Since this poster has never been used or exposed to light , the colors are bright and vivid, as good as it can possibly get!

ORIGINAL BEATLES ONE SHEET, 27x41", distributed in 1965 for the movie, HELP, TRI FOLDED/FOLDED THE LONG WAY TWICE, STAMPED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE POSTER with the Official NSS stamp, "HELP THE BEATLES 1 SH. 65/293. Seasoned collectors know the NSS stamp clearly identifies an Authentic movie poster.

Please see second photo which shows the official studio NSS stamp on back. It scanned light but it is darker in person, The original owner acquired this poster in1978, BUT IT was hidden in their warehouse for all of these years. He is an international seller of beatles, rock and movie memorabilia since 1976.

Here is a really nice and quite RARE Original Window Card for this unforgettable Steve McQueen classic. Excellent condition and unlike most window cards, top has NOT been trimmed or written on. A great find!

Arguably the best crime film of 1968, and certainly one of the most influential films of the genre...."Bullitt" established new directions in the mood and style of crime thrillers, and firmly established McQueen as one of the key anti-hero stars of the 60's. Based on the gritty novel "Mute Witness" by Robert L. Pike, this was the first, and only, time McQueen portrayed a police officer (albeit a maverick one) in his movie career. In 1968 Steve was then riding high on the success of his previous heist film, "The Thomas Crown Affair", and "Bullitt" just propelled his star even higher into the cinematic heavens !

The plot is tight, economical and well crafted....taciturn, moody Detective Frank Bullitt (McQueen) is charged with the protection of a key witness vital to an upcoming trial involving Mafia connections. Whilst hidden away in a supposed secure location, the witness and his police guard are brutally gunned down by unknown assailants. The heat is turned up on Bullitt by his tough Captain (Simon Oakland) and the manipulative, opportunistic politician Walter Chalmers (Robert Vaughn) to come up with the right answers fast ! Between the draining investigation, Bullitt struggles to maintain his relationship with his cultured, sensitive girlfriend, Cathy (Jacqueline Bisset)

These 1943 lobby cards are actually more rare then the 1937 release as we have only seen maybe one other one in the past 20 years. Whereas we have a seen a half dozen of the 1937 release cards. A real beauty. Very good condition with some minor smudges on bottom border.

ANOTHER RECORD JUST REALIZED!
The previous sales record for this card was $4200 back in July of 2006.
That record has now been SHATTERED.
In March 2008 this card sold for $7800.
Again confirming our prediction these lobby cards are GOLD to serious movie poster art collectors.

It is on a rare occasion we acquire one of these 1949 re-release OZ lobby cards. We always believed they were superior to the original 1939 cards, the color, artwork , graphics are just spectacular. For many years we thought these 49 lobby cards were our little secret. That has changed in the past couple years. This card sold in March 2008 for $7800!! Now confirming even more desirable then the original 1939 cards. Our little secret was no longer. The rest of the collecting world apparently discovered these extraordinary treasures.

Here we are offering the best card of the set, "Wicked Witch Behind Tree" . You know the scene. A BEAUTY! And, is was INDEED, THE card that sold for over $4200 at Heritage in July 2006. And NOW, $7800 in March 2008. WHY you ask? In addition to the superior artwork, color and graphics of this 1949 lobby card set, there were a few cards that had scenes which were NOT included in the original 1939 or 1955 sets. In particular, this "Witch" scene. Some speculate she was not included in the original 1939 lobby card set because the studio wanted to keep her appearance a secret, hence more shock value. Either way it is one of the reasons this set has become even MORE popular then the original 1939 set. It usually takes us several years to find ONE of these 1949 Oz cards. About a year ago. we were fortunate to acquire FIVE of these magnificent pieces of Hollywood History. But several months ago we sold most of them including this prized "Wicked Witch" card. However, we surprisingly we just acquired this card from another collector (when we expected it to be MANY years before we would have such an opportunity).. Grab this one or wait about 4-5 years for us to find another. This is only the second time in 20+ years of collecting we have acquired this particular, and most valuable card. . The ONLY "Wizard of OZ" lobby card to feature the Wicked Witch. A prize in any collection !.

Condition is excellent. There were some very minor touch up for pinholes at middletop border and a light scratch in the middle of card in grass area. and that was it. No repairs to borders or cleaning. We kept the minor repairs to just those tiny areas as the card was in great shape and didn't need anything major.

And, if the trend for these lobby cards continues someone will have in a few years a card approaching (or exceeding) a value of $10,000.

We have been fortunate to recently acquire two vintage original Tarzan "filming” photos. Both are wire service/press release photos with original provenance, dates and historical snipes on the back.

In the past we have acquired a number of vintage Tarzan movie posters, signed lithographs and autographs, but this is the FIRST time we have acquired these photos and these types of "filming" photos.

Viva Las Vegas (MGM, 1964). One Sheet (27" X 41"). This is the much more Desirable and Rare Style B one sheet, with it’s much superior artwork then style A. The King of Rock and Roll, and buxom Ann-Margret in form-fitting tights -- who could ask for anything more? This was Elvis Presley's most successful theatrical film, and many fans believe it to be his best as well. Vivacious Ann-Margret heats up the screen and the songs and dance numbers are top-notch.

Great Original Vintage one sheet from this popular sea classic from 1956. When I received this poster I was quite amazed how stunning it was!! The artwork is incredible...A real beauty!!!

This excellent condition movie poster one sheet is 27x41" in size (as are all Original one sheets). Someone did put brown paper tape on the back along the outer edge border, not the folds, just the outer edge. For reinforcement as I do not see any tears that were repaired. Could be easily removed.

It is on a rare occasion we acquire one of these 1949 re-release OZ lobby cards. We always believed they were superior to the original 1939 cards, the color, artwork , graphics are just spectacular. For many years we thought these 49 lobby cards were our little secret. That changed last year when Heritage sold eight cards separately. The prices shocked everyone. One sold for over $4200! Even more then the original 1939 cards. Our little secret was no longer. The rest of the collecting world apparently discovered these extraordinary treasures.

Here we are offering one of the best cards of the set, "Lion Acts Tough" . This particular card was one of the rare OZ lobby cards, ONLY produced for this 1949 lobby card set. One of our favorites. You know the scene. A BEAUTY! The colors and contrast are exceptional on this vintage lobby card. It usually takes us several years to find ONE of these. Here we are offering the vintage lobby card, "Let's Get the Witch" . You know the scene. A BEAUTY! It usually takes us several years to find ONE of these. However, we were fortunate recently to acquire FIVE of these magnificent pieces of Hollywood History. Be sure to check them out. Grab this one or wait about 4-5 years for us to find another. Very good condition slightly diagonal horizontal crease across the top edge of the image background, starting above the Lion's head and running almost to the right border. There is surface paper loss in each of the four corners, only blank white paper in three of the corners, and removing the "CO" from the copyright in the bottom left corner. There are four tiny pieces of clear tape on the back of the top and bottom borders. VERY scarce card to find!

1942 - Beautiful Original Vintage lobby card from this 1942 Holiday classic. Bing Crosby decides to leave the show and move to a country homer in Connecticut. A true, immortal classic. Excellent condition for a 67 year old lobby card! No tears or creases. However, someone did rub what looks like an eraser across the bottom as seen in the image. Also, a child apparently wrote some pencil marks on man's (think Walter Abel) black robe, which can't be seen unless tilted under a light. This minor flaws can be easily restored with minor touch up by professional restorer like Studio C for probably no more then $40-50. Hence, we have lowered the price to more then compensate for the minor touch up work.

That being said the major Christmas classic card is beautiful with rich colors and great graphics of the leading cats members.

For many years customers have asked about this particular Bogart poster. My answer has always been, "a VERY RARE poster to ever surface in the marketplace". After many years we have finally acquired one of the most sought after, RARE, VALUABLE and frankly STUNNING Humphrey Bogart vintage movie posters in existence, "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre".

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (sometimes called "The Treasure of Sierra Madre"), the classic 1948 John Huston gold mining striking-it-rich melodrama (nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about three men who prospect for gold and the mixed blessings they find when they discover much gold; "They sold their souls for ....The Treasure of the Sierra Madre"; "Warner Bros. hit a new high in high adventure... Bringing another great best-seller to the screen!") starring Humphrey Bogart, Walter Huston (John Huston's father, and a legendary actor of the 1920s and 30s; he won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for this movie), Tim Holt (star of many B-westerns), Bruce Bennett (an early screen Tarzan, as Herman Brix!), and Alfonso Bedoya (he who wore the gold hat and uttered the infamous line, "Bodges? We don't need no bodges! We don't need no stinking bodges!")

Excellent condition with minor touch up and has been professionally linen backed. What else needs to be said here? A magnificent museum quality piece of Hollywood History! We attended an auction a year ago and tried to acquire this poster, which sold for nearly $10,000. This poster continues to skyrocket in value

Eight were produced in a set (seven scene cards and one title card) and were displayed in an illuminated showcase so people could get a teaser of the movie.

Original Lobby cards are 11x14” and made of a heavier paper (then one sheets). This card is in Excellent + condition. Some minor professional repairs including filled-in corner pinholes, and minor border repairs. Has also been professionally cleaned.The colors are extremely vivid and the vintage artwork is stunning. You are highly unlikely to find another in such spectacular condition!

It has been over three years since we have been able to acquire a lobby card from this major classic title. We were recently fortunate enough to find this and SEVEN other original lobby cards, including the TITLE CARD!!!
