Original Title Card (11x14")

The Munsters lobby card set had two lobby cards that could be considered the Title Card because they each have the same graphics as the one sheet. These were card numbers 7 and 3. This is card # 3 and considered one of the Title Cards since it is the same artwork as the US one sheet.

We just acquired the entire Munster Go Home lobby card set so be sure to take a look at each of them, any of which will be an exciting addition to your collection.

“Ick’s ABC” children’s book was written and illustrated by Munsters actor Fred Gwynne in 1971. Vintage signed in black felt tip pen on the first blank page “Freder-ick Gwynne 1972”. This is a beautiful, large autograph from this popular TV star. The book is in Fair condition, having appeared to have gotten wet at some point, mainly affecting the center portion near the spine. The signature is just about unaffected. Rare book and and very difficult signature to acquire in AUTHENTIC form.

Condition: This is the BEST conditon one of these we have ever seen, near mint. The box is excellent+ - Near Mint!  However, when I put batteries in it did not work.  I am sure someone with technical apptitude could fix it.

his 11x16” poster was only sent to retail stores to promote the dark Shadows 1968 gum card packs.  We have never seen one of these before. A great image of the leading man (or leading Vampire!).. In excellent to NM condition.  Folded.

Marx Dick Tracy tin litho wind up toy, 1949

Here we have a very nice vintage 1949 11" Marx Dick Tracy tin litho wind up toy.  The toy is in good working condition.  The metal on the car is in good condition with only some very light marks.  The metal underneath the car only has some light marks.  The key winds up the car nicely and the action is strong with a nice loud siren noise!

"The Munsters". EXCEPTIONALLY RARE Original hand litho Australian 3 sheet approx 40" x 80", printed in 3 sections, folded as issued, fine condition. Australian three sheets were generally printed in 3 sections but occasionally had as many as 5 or even 6 panels. These gorgeous Australian 3 sheets were printed in extremely small quantities and sold to the cinemas for display. These posters would generally be taped or glued together and few have survived. It is amazing the condition this one is in. This was recently acquired from one of Australia's most famous long time collectors. He worked in the industry for many years and tried to keep something from every film that was released. This poster is exceedingly rare and in many cases it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to find another. The ONLY one we have ever seen in 20+ years of collecting!

In addition, the stunningly, beautiful artwork surpasses that of it's American counterpart, also issues in 1966. It is also FAR MORE RARE. EXCELLENT Condition!

VERY SCARCE an unusual Original ink sketch of Herman Munster on a blue-bordered off-white 5.75 x 3.75 card, signed and inscribed, “To Ashley, Fred Gwynne, 86.” In fine condition, with a touch of mild scattered soiling. This is the first Fred Gwynne sketch we have ever acquired, although we have heard a few have appeared on the market over the years. And, a sketch of his immortal character as "Herman Munster” makes this a most desirable acquisition for your prized collection.   Gwynne was known to not sign anything to do with his Munster character as he believed it typecasted him for many years.

TV Show Gum Cards 1950s/60s

After more than 30 years of collecting, we have decided to sell our TV gum card collection.   Although we have been buying and selling movie posters and autographs for 30 years we have never parted with our Non-sport gum cards.  Most of our gum cards are related to popular TV shows from the 60’s including "Three Stooges" (1959 series),“The Munsters”, "Addams Family",“Lost in Space”, “Dark Shadows”, “Beverly Hillbillies”,  and many other nostalgic TV shows.  We spent many years and hundreds of collector shows looking for the prized non-sports cards with most being High Grade condition.  Some are actually near mint-mnt and we may send to PSA fpr grading, as the most informed collectors know what happens to the value when PSA assigns a grade of 8 or above on a 1959 Three Stooges card.

RARE Set of Three

To say RARE is an understatement. Recently acquired two Disney Vintage treasures at a high end art auction. Obviously the original owner had great taste in not only art but vintage Disney.

Both were licensed by Disney and made by Knickerbockers Toys in 1937. They are 9” tall and have all original clothing. We have never seen these before and doubt we ever will again. They are in very good condition and show only signs of wear from age. No ships or cracking. They are about 9" tall.

I contacted a long time Disney collector friend of mine and he said he had one in his collection which he is consigning with this set. UNBELIEVABLY, his “Bashful” , shown below, is in INCREDIBLE condition and even has the ORIGINAL Knickerbocker Tags from 1937. UNHEARD OF!!

The third Disney Dwarf figure was acquired from a long time collector:

This is a very rare 1937 Bashful doll from Disney's "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." It is in exceptional and near mint condition. The doll was never played with and has no visible damages other than aging. Included is the original tag which says Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on one side and (shown) identifies the doll as an authorized Disney product and as manufactured by Knickerbocker Toy Co., New York City.

Bashful stands 9" tall plus his hat. The body is all composition and has no crazing or cracking. He has his original velvet costume and cap, all in very good condition. He had been in my consignor's late mother's doll collection for about the last 40 years.

These are two beautiful rare ORIGINAL full color 8x10" stills featuring Popeye the Sailor Meets Sinbad the Sailor. 1936. Very nice cond. We have never seen these before this!  Incredible, VERY RARE vintage stills with spectacular "Popeye" artwork!  One i sin excellent + condiiotn nd the other in Very Good to excellent condition with corner bends and pinholes

The first time we have seen one of these. An original press release photo for a "Munsters" episode that aired in 1965. An original newspaper ad snipe is on the back using this photo to promote the TV episode. Great Munsters original photo. We often see the orginal movie posters, but these original press release photos are highly scarce!

Lil Abner - Dogpatch Band
Vintage Wind Up Tin Toy, 1946
With RARE Original Box

Li'l Abner was a satirical American comic strip appearing in many newspapers in the United States and Canada, featuring a fictional clan of hillbillies in the impoverished town of Dogpatch, Kentucky. Written and drawn by Al Capp (1909-1979), the strip ran for 43 years, from August 13, 1934 through November 13, 1977. It was distributed by United Feature Syndicate. Read daily by scores of millions of people, the strip's characters and humor had a powerful cultural impact.

You can read a more detailed history of what many consider the "most famous comic strip of all time".

Here is a terrific original 1946 embossed lithographed tin wind-up toy. Great multiple actions with colorful box. The toy is in magnificent condition, possibly the best you will ever find! All members of the band including Abner dancing, Daisy Mae playing piano, Pappy playing the drums and Mammy beating her stick work great. Mammy is a little loose but she works and she could easily be tightened up. Also, has the original windup key.

And, if you have ever collected this particular piece you know that almost always there are pieces missing such as legs, arms, Mammy's stick, etc. And, those that have all pieces often have had replacements or repairs. This gem is ALL Original, no replacements or repairs. The hinges have never been opened to make a repair.

The box is extremely scarce and rarely ever seen! This particular original box is missing the top lid and has had a couple tape repairs on one side and one end. But, the artwork and lithographs are all there and none of the typical moisture stains like usually seen. Also amazingly, the bottom is not only un-damaged but it looks NEW as it did 63 years ago. The price tag is even still there and though the ink is worn you can see where there was a price and it looks to be $1.29. WOW!

A near mint piece in great working condition you are unlikely to see again. See several additional images below

"Lost in Space"
3D Game, 1966

"Lost in Space" fans need no history on the value of this rare 3-D game releaee by Remco in 1966. Excellent condition with all pices in tact. We had two of these, one had tape on all the edges, which we sold. This box is in much better shape. However, it does have a section of one side of the box missing. ee photos. I believe all the pieces are there including all four figures. But, I have never played the game so not sure if there were any more pieces. See images for piece details. One of the board pieces was torn but can easily be reattached. See images. A rare 60's game to find intact. And, nice condition considering it is 43 years old.

Pipe Toss game

This is a hard to find 1935 POPEYE PIPE TOSS game its ORIGINAL BOX! Notice that this Popeye game is Complete with its original PIPE & ALL 3 RINGS! These are missing on many encountered. The beautiful cardboard lithograph of POPEYE stands a little over 10" tall and was made by Rosebud Art Company from 1935 - 1937. The game is dated 1935 by King Features Syndicate. The Rosebud Art Company started making toys in 1923. They began manufacturing one of the most popular of all Popeye toys, the Pipe Toss Game No. 17, in 1935. There were two versions of this toy, one with a wood pipe and one without. The version offered here with the wood pipe was by far the best seller. Here is a very rare, apparently unused Colorforms Set. The pieces look as though they have never been moved from the piece panels. All pieces except for one of Wendy's shoes and Comex's bat are present. Also oriignal instruction sheet included. Excellent condition.

Very Rare Munsters signed photo. As most collecotrs know Fred Gwynne almost always refused to sign "Munster" photos. Although many forgeries appear on Ebay it is Highly Rare for an authentic autographed Fred Gwynne "Munster" related photo to appear on the market.

Glossy 10 x 8 photo of the Munster family, signed in blue ballpoint by Fred Gwynne, in black felt tip by Yvonne DeCarlo, and in red felt tip by Al Lewis. In very fine condition. Gwynne was known to hate being associated to the character of Herman Munster and usually refused to sign Munster items. Also includes COA from PSA's lead Hollywood authenticator.

Talking Mattel Doll/Puppet, 1964

Herman Munster is clean in very nice condition and he is from a smoke free home. His blue vest is slightly soiled but has no holes or damage damage. He stands about 21" tall. He has his original Mattel tag attached to his back dated 1964. No chews on his hands or rubs on his face.

His voice box has been professionally repaired. This is the more Rare "Beatles version" and he talks saying when his string is pulled "I love the Beatles...Real beetles" "You're so cute I'm green with envy" "They say I look like someone in pictures"" "I'm a Munster...Ah Herman that is." "You are the ghoul of my dreams". ALSO, note that this is a full figure (with legs), NOT a half size puppet as most of the vintage talking Herman dolls.

VERY RARE 60's/70's Batmobile

This is one of the most exciting Batmobiles ever designed. The colors, and unique characteristics are quite striking, more so then any other Batmobile we have seen (maybe other then the Piston Batmobile we have). It is battery operated and works like new! The battery compartment is clean. It also includes the Original Box (first time we have seen this one with original box). Box has a couple minor easily repairable tears. It was made in Taiwan.

Nice condition, well painted. Made by Revelle, released in 1966. Each figure about 10" tall (except for Joe, he is about 8").

Original Aurora Model Kit

This model kit is an all original 1965 Aurora release with Original box. Everything, including all the cobwebs, fireplace pieces, and rats are here. As you can tell by the pictures the model is partially built and painted. The instructions are here as well as the box. The box has minor wear over three of four corners. Herman Munster's electric chair does have some minor damage to the wiring housing where the pieces come together, no small breaks though. This model kit is extremely rare and collectible for the model or Munsters collector. No collector should be without a purchase as great and complete as this one. These are NOT Polar Light reproductions from 1998, but ORIGINAL Aurora models form 1965.

Colorforms Set

This is a wonderful vintage COLORFORMS Toy from 1965 – it’s THE MUNSTERS CARTOON KIT ©1965 Kayro-Vue Productions #270. This is quite a rare set, one that does not become available that often. It’s a really neat set and what is really great is that it is only missing two very small pieces. What is included her are all the Munsters family members each with several body parts and accessories/extras! There’s Herman and all his parts are green; Lily and all her parts are red; Eddie and all his parts including his werewolf doll are also red; Cousin Marilyn and all her parts are yellow and finally, Grandpa and all his parts are blue.

The original set had 47 stick on pieces, the set now has 45. The missing pieces are a small red shoe of Eddie’s (he has another piece that has feet so he isn’t without) and a red bat. One of Marilyn’s yellow arms is bent and one of Eddie’s red legs is also bent. All the pieces are still housed on their original black shiny holders (box inserts that have tabs to be held inside the box). The play surface that you stick the pieces on to play is a black, white and gray drawing of The Munsters’ cobwebbed filled living room! This surface is in very good condition. Also included is the original paper insert/pamphlet that came with the set. It opens up and shows some of the many scenes you can make with this neat toy.

All of this comes in the original box but the box has seen some wear. The box measures about 12 ½" by 8" by 1". The box bottom looks good, clean with no split corners. The box top certainly has wear around the edges and corners. All the box top corners are intact but there is a tear on one of the sides of the box top that had been taped but the tape has long since fallen off. Also the there is a small hole that has been punched through the box top on far left side.A great vintage toy and a welcome addition to any The Munsters/vintage TV collection

Lost in Space REMCO Robot, 1966

From my personal collection

The Robot is complete with all of the original parts, in excellent condition, and I purchased from the original owner. He includes a letter describing the history of this treasure!. Some slight separation on his dome and warping of the base (these seem to be common problems). THERE ARE NO CRACKS OR BREAKS ON ANY EXTERIOR SURFACE.. The stickers on the sides of his base are in pretty good shape. WORKS LIKE NEW!! His light blinks, and his motor runs!! . The original battery bar is included, which is usually missing.

The instruction sheet is included, and is in very good condition. It's a bit wrinkled, but it has no tears. The box is also in excellent condition with only a minor crease in one of the top flaps, a slight bulge on one side panel, a crease on the back panel along one edge, a one inch by one inch water spot at the top of the back panel, and a one inch by one half inch tape mark in the center of the back panel. The graphic on the front is almost perfect except for a slight discoloration where the price tag used to be, at the top right corner (I still have the price tag and it is included with the robot, how RARE is that!). Also, if you want them, I will throw in 2 dead and ancient RayOVac "D" Cells that powered him once upon a time. The side, top and bottom panels are all a bit yellowed with age but this is to be expected with something this old. This is one of the nicest boxes I have seen offered. Study the photos carefully to judge condition.

In conclusion, you will be hard pressed to find a better speciman with all the original components as the day it was purchased over 40 years ago!!

1964 - This is an awesome mint unused example. In ORIGINAL Box, NEVER REMOVED! The box is as straight and perfect as the day it was made over 40 years ago . Hard to imagine surviving in this kind of shape after all these years. No litho splits or tears anywhere. One of the nicest boxed examples that you will ever find. Still has its original price tag for 1.29

A real TREASURE!! You could spend a lifetime looking for one of these, in this un-used condition, as though it was sitting on Woolworth's shelf for the past 42 years!!!

"Rare" original "Lurch" figure from the Television Series, The Addams Family. It is in Very Good Condition and measures 5 1/2" tall. Lurch has a rubber head and the body is vinyl. 1964 - ORIGINAL talking "Herman Munster" by Mattel from 1964. About 15-18 inches tall and he still WORKS!! Just pull his ring cord and he talks! In great condition for a 40+ year old toy! Actually the nicest condition and working Herman we have ever seen.

Uncle Fester's Unbreakable Mystery Light Bulb
For those of us old enough to remember Uncle Fester always walking around with this bulb in his mouth.

Includes instructions and light bulb. Mystery ring is not included.

Box has some water spots. There is a slight tear in the plastic on the cover of the box.
Part of the the "Uncle Fester" on the top of the bulb has worn off. I did not try to get this to work.

Original, RARE Vintage Green Hornet Corgi "Black Beauty" issued in 1966. Original box, INsert, Missiles, flying disks, Instructions and even secret instruction packet.

The front missile and rear flying disk launchers work like new.

If it weren't for the slightest paint lose on the very tips of the top of the front bumper and a little on the hood edges, I would classify this as MINT. Hence, it definitely rates a Excellent + - near Mint condition! A child wrote on one side of the box. Other then that box is in nice shape. Several photos are provided for your inspection.

The nicest one we have ever acquired!

Original Board Game

This is a VERY RARE 1938 board game released the same year as the Errol Flynn classic movie, "The Adventures of Robin Hood". I don't think you will find many of these on the collector's market!! Very good condition. The box is missing a flap on the sid, but all board and all pieces appear to be intact. The condition is actually exceptional for a board game that is nearly 70 years old !!

Three Stooges VINTAGE Memorabilia
Original Gum Card Box, 1965

1965 - Here is an Original Three Stooges Bubble Gum box in Excellent ++ Condition, would almost call it MINT if it didn't have the slightest wear on the corned edges which are not even apparent unless you really inspect it. Comes shrink wrapped.

Three Stooges "Fun House game", Lowell Toy, 1959

Don't know how to spell the classic Stooges expressions but if you're a Stooges lover like myself you'll love this game.

Game is complete with all components in excellent condition; even has the original Moby Dick teeth still in cardboard punchout.

Board also in excellent condition with great artwork of the Stooges.

Box has one split corner and some edgewear; some tape damage to all four sides; also four areas of writing in pen on lid. Have no expertise in getting this off so not going to try. But, overall, artwork is in great shape.

"Popeye", 1953
RARE Jack-in-the-Box

This is a hard to find 1953 Mattel JACK-IN-THE-BOX featuring POPEYE! The lithographs are very nice on this toy with only a few superficial scratches. The top pops open by the release botton on top of the box but does not work by turning the crank. Please be sure to read more about vintage Popeye toys in January's issue of Kovels.

Antique Tin Toy Train
Circa 1900

Here is a really unusually rare tin toy train from the late 1800's, early 1900's. I am not sure if it was part of a set. The wheels are solid steel and underneath is a wheel mechanism which makes the train wheels move. It seems to work although it is a bit hard to turn as the wheels are slightly bent. I am sure this could be corrected.

The train is a about 15" long and weighs about 5-7 lbs. .It has retained much of the original black paint and red paint on the smaller front wheels.

Tin Battery Operated Atom Motorcycle

We have owned three of these Atom Motorcycles over the past 20 years, they are our favorite of all Japanese tin toys. BUT, what makes this particular specimen so special is that this is the first one that works perfectly! NEVER have we seen one that worked and looked so good. A rare opportunity to own an incredible vintage Japanese toy masterpiece!

This is a very nice battery-operated Atom Motorcycle made in Japan in the 1950's by Modern Toys. It is in very good condition with light play wear. This motorcycle has some great actions. When turned on, the bike goes forward, stops, the rider dismounts to one side and then gets back on. It then goes forward again and repeats the cycle. The front headlight also works. All the actions work great. This is a large motorcycle, measuring over 11" (28 cm) in length.
