Harvey, 1950 James Stewart Original lobby card

$275.00

"Harvey", 1950
Original lobby card
Starring James Stewart

One of the most beloved James Stewart classics. He befriends a six foot rabbit no one else seems to recognize. If you have not seen this gem of a movie, I HIGHLY recommend it! Here is a great scene where the group is contemplating whether Elwood P. Dowd is insane. This beautiful lobby card is in very good + condition.

Elwood P. Dowd is one of the most gracious and good-natured characters I've ever seen. He smiles constantly throughout the film, as if his only reason for being is to please others. When teamed with Harvey, he has this positive affect on everyone around him. No other actor could have played the part better than James Stewart. Stewart is the best actor ever to take on the persona of the everyman. He was the ordinary guy who found himself in adverse situations. Later in his career, he added a more complex dimension to his acting style, and that can especially be seen in his collaborations with Alfred Hitchcock.

Elwood P. Dowd (James Stewart) is a lovable, albeit eccentric, character, who is accompanied through life by a pookah, an invisible spirit that appears to Elwood as a six foot tall rabbit. Elwood's respectable sister Veta (Josephine Hull), embarrassed by Elwood's antics, decides to send her brother to the local sanitarium, and through a series of comical errors, ends up there herself. This beloved classic, based on the hit play written by Mary Chase, also stars Peggy Dow and Cecil Kellaway.
