Beautiful vintage window card for this most significant film noir classic.   Just to give you an idea a one sheet for this title sold in 2007 for $47,800!    This rare window card has some staining which can be easily addressed with professional restoration if so desired...  That said, the main area is mostly unaffected and it retains beautiful bright colors and stunning artwork of the two super stars!   And the vintage staining actually adds a nice touch of authenticity for this 75 year old poster.  .  NOT faded like many vintage window cards.  The first time we have seen this Original Release window card in 35 years collecting.    A gem of a find!    * See enlargeable image above

Starring Veronica Lake, Robert Preston, Laird Cregar, Alan Ladd, Tully Marshall, and Marc Lawrence. Directed by Frank Tuttle. An unrestored window card that has an overall presentable appearance.

Frank Tuttle directs the action in this excellent film noir featuring the unforgettable pairing of Veronica Lake and Alan Ladd. Lake stars as a nightclub singer who is working undercover for the government to track down a corrupt industrialist (Tully Marshall) who's been working for America's enemies. She becomes entangled with double-crossed hitman Ladd, who must ultimately choose between his criminal instincts and his desire to help his new, and only, friend Lake. A seminal and intelligent film, it is based on a Graham Greene story and is as powerful today as when it was first released during WWII.

 This is seminal film noir, as a hit-man named Raven (Alan Ladd) is bent on revenge against a man who paid him in hot cash for a job he did. Along the way, he meets Ellen (Veronica Lake) who forms an uneasy alliance with him. Ladd, as the cruel protagonist, received fourth billing on the film, but was the true star of the picture. For Lake, this was the second film she made sporting her "peek-a-boo" hairstyle which soon became her trademark. "This Gun for Hire" was also the first pairing of Ladd and Lake, a duo that would become icons of the film noir genre.
