Extremely RARE ORIGINAL Wizard of Oz half sheet from the 1949 re-release. This is style A which was the superior style poster for this timeless classic. The graphics on this are Stunning! About the best of any Oz poster! With great head-shots of all the main characters along with scenes from the film, makes this the ultimate find for Oz and vintage movie collectors! We can confidently say it is Highly UNlikely you will ever see this original poster again. Only one other has ever been sold, by a major auction house about eight years ago.

This Oz treasure is in very good condition with only wear in the form of slight wrinkling in upper border area and small tear on border edges. Main image area is excellent. Amazingly this half sheet has NO fold lines as it was apparently rolled (about 90% of all half sheets were folded by the studios).. Also, it has been professional paper backed (rendering all the minor defects invisible) and the poster now looks amazing near mint ! See enlargeable image above.

The Wizard of Oz (MGM, R-1949). Half Sheet (22" X 28") Style A. MGM's enduring classic was filmed in 1939 for an estimated budget of some 2.75 million dollars. This was one of the most costly films ever made. This poster presents a great image of Judy Garland and her three friends as well as wonderful scenes from the film.
