Al Capone Historic Photo TYPE I in Court 1931

SUPERB 1931 Original Photo AL CAPONE - The FACE of CRIME

A Rare, Vintage 1931 ORIGINAL Photograph issued by the Chicago Tribune depicting gangster Al Capone. Fine sepia tone 5" x 7" photo featuring a close-up shot of the most notorious gangster in history captured by he cameras in court. The photo boasts excellent contrast and razor SHARP clarity where one can see the fine details of Al's handsome suit, even through the glass table on the lower left.

The photograph has been authenticated by PSA/DNA as a TYPE I, period 1st generation exemplar and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity attesting to such. The photo was used in newsprint publication at the time bearing two newspaper clippings from 1931. And while the government would fail to nail Scarface on his gangland activities, he would be found guilty of tax evasion and be sent away, essentially ending his reign.

Note how the back of the photo on the original newspaper clipping in which this photo was used, it begins to tell a story of  Capone's fading smile as he begins to learn of his predicament.  An amazing piece of crime history.
