Husband & Wife Pair Paintings
Exceptionally nice pair of Watercolor Profile Portraits, America, mid-19th century, depicting a seated man with a book, his wife with a kerchief, in original period frames, lg. 11 3/4, wd. 9 3/4 in. Frame for man painting has no glass.
The watercolors are on heavy stock art board but have been applied to canvas and hence mounted as are oil on canvas. Particular attention was paid to the detail on both pieces. See enlargeable image above and below, including images of back and canvas backing.
