An Outstanding Vintage 1942 ORIGINAL Photograph featuring Babe Ruth on the set of "Pride of the Yankees", one of the greatest sports film ever made in 20th Century cinema. Ruth would portray himself in the film based on the life of his New York Yankees teammate, Lou Gehrig starring Gary Cooper. This Rare, 7-1/4" x 9" photograph is one of the very best publicity shots from the film as it captures director Sam Wood with one of those old movie markers and the Babe in his Yankees uniform. The 1st generation, period TYPE I photograph has several date stamps on the verso including one two from 1942. It is in beautiful, excellent in condition with striking contrast and razor sharp clarity. Great photo !
