Recently discovered an estate auction of vintage Frank Sinatra memorabilia including several autographed items including rare books, concert programs and menus. What made this find so extraordinary is that the autographs were Genuine. Now that may not sound unusual. However, genuine signatures of Frank Sinatra are quite rare as the majority of his autographs on the market were signed by a secretary or are outright forgeries. It is estimated as much as 90-95% of Mr. Sinatra's autographs are Not genuine.. So upon examining this collection, it was quite amazing. Come to find out this piece (and all pieces from this collection) was acquired In Person. Phyllis was the President of the Frank Sinatra Fan Club in the late 40s to early-mid 50s.
*See enlargeable images above and below of Mr Sinatra & Phyllis, along with an image of an original 1948 Frank Sinatra Fan Club membership card in which Phyllis signs as the club's President. (photos not included but just for provenance).
What also makes these signed Sinatra pieces so extraordinary is the provenance that most of them come with in the form of the documented experience written on each piece. This book includes her priceless handwritten note of provenance inside that reads,
“Date – Mon, August 20, 1956
Time - After 12:30
Place – Paramount Theater”
Phyllis apparently taking advantage of having this book signed while Mr Sinatra was in the midst of filming the movie, which would be released months after he signed this book.
