For the fist time in our 40 years collecting classic Hollywood treasures, we are excited to have discovered one of the most significant and important pieces we've ever encountered. From one of the greatest cinematic masterpieces in film history. And one of the Best movies I have ever seen!
The Original vintage half sheet movie poster actually used in the theater in 1940 to promote the epic film depicting the unimaginable struggles of the Great Depression "The Grapes of Wrath". Very good condition with fold splits and border staining that has been corrected with professional restoration and paperbacking. This gem is stunning not only for its artistic beauty but for its representation of a most critical time in American history and its spectacular cinematic portrayal of that consequential period. This is one of the very rare cases where a really great book is turned into a really great movie!
Note: This great Style B half-sheet (which we have never sold before) has a wonderful "line up" image of the stars in character (Not just the heads like the Style A half sheet), looking as people worn down by The Great Depression would surely pose in such a portrait! Only about 3 or 4 of these half sheets have ever appeared on the market. Very Rare! Another half sheet sold at auction in July 2013 for $7800.
Condition: Very good. Had fold line wear and border touch up. Has been professionally paper backed and now looks Amazing!
