Very rare and original, 1860’s Civil War Period Photograph - Quarter plate Daguerreotype of a country home with subjects posed outside!!

We have collected Daguerreotypes and civil war artifacts for almost 40 years and have experienced about 90% of all Daguerreotypes, Ambrotypes and Tintypes are portraits of people.  It is Extremely RARE to discover a Daguerreotype photo of a mid 19th century home with subjects in front are even more Rare!   This particular gem includes two women on the porch and what appears a Black Gentleman with a top hat walking toward the white picket fence gate.     An Amazing & Scarce piece of History !

Description:
Quarter plate daguerreotype of a country home with subjects posed outside. 

Quarter plate daguerreotype. (Substantial scratching to plate including large scratch near upper right, with tarnishing to edges.) Housed in a full pressed paper case (spotting to mat, surface wear with finish loss to case). Among the posed subjects is a man, possibly an African American, wearing a top hat near the gate of the picket fence in front of the house. Two women rest on the porch behind him.
