MARILYN MONROE
Original Vintage TYPE I Studio Photo (8x10")

One of Marilyn's First movie photos!

Photographer Edward Cronenweth

1948 Marilyn Monroe, "Long Haired Beauty" Early Photo by Edward Cronenweth

1948 Extremely RARE early photograph of young actress Marilyn Monroe from one of her first films, "Ladies of the Chorus" and stamped on the back by Columbia Pictures photographer Edward Cronenweth. A bold image in perfect condition, the film would be released in late December 1948 so the still frame shots were done probably around mid 1948 making them some of Marilyn's earliest in her career!    As can be noted from her long hairstyle that would disappear in about a year later before she would film Asphalt Jungle in favor of her trademark shorter golden blonde hair style.

* Marilyn Monroe's hairstyle captured the world with tight tousled curls perfectly placed and created one of the most desired and seductive hairstyles of all time. Her signature-bleached-blonde hair color and retro waves were her most prominent features, which appealed to the masses and never went out of style.

From the same auction we acquired this was another Marilyn photo by Edward Cronenweth, and it sold for $6200!    Edward Cronenweth was one of the first photographers to capture Marilyn on film and may be the first to photograph her for a movie promo photo.   A Guaranteed TYPE I photo with Edward Cronenweth photographer stamp on back.
