"In the Navy", 1941
Original Vintage Movie Script
Starring Bud Abbott & Lou Costello

We are all familiar with the Abbott & Costello 1941 WWII era classic “In the Navy”.  But. how many of you know it was originally titled, “They're In the Navy”.    Now with this piece of genuine Hollywood History, this Original Vintage Movie Script for “They're In the Navy” was eventually changed to “In the Navy” and became one of Abbott & Costello’s most successful films.

Any original movie paper or posters for this film is Very Scarce, most likely due to 99% of it being donated and destroyed for the WW2 paper drive efforts.   And this is the FIRST Original script we’ve ever seen in our 40 + years collecting.

(Note: We also have a RARE Original script for the 194 Abbott & Costello classic "Ride em Cowboy")

* See enlargeable images above and below

They're In the Navy by Arthur T. Horman and John Grant (Universal, 1941). Fine/Very Fine. Final Draft Script (120 Pages, 8.5" X 11").
Dick Powell is hiding in plain sight as Tommy Halstead in the Navy and not as Russ Raymond, America's number one crooner. Hot on his heels is journalist Dorothy Roberts whose intent to expose the singer of his true identity with Abbott and Costello mixed into the antics, makes this one of their best comedy outings! Starring Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Dick Powell, Claire Dodd, The Andrews Sisters, Dick Foran, Shemp Howard, and Condos Brothers. Directed by Arthur Lubin. An unrestored script that displays signs of use. May include edge and spine wear, corner bends, tears, some paper loss, smudges, and unobtrusive stains. The top page of the script has torn punched holes, There are pencil marks on pages for edits, revisions, and re-writes. There are three punched holes to the left side of the script with two brass fasteners connecting the script together.

VERY SCARCE!   Based on our research this is  the ONLY one in existence!
