Cowboy hero John Wayne plays a lawyer who is out for justice as he comes up against the murderous King of the Pecos (Cy Kendall), who killed his parents years ago. Having to use both the law books and his gun, Wayne brings order to the land and finds time to woo Belle (Muriel Evans). 
John Wayne rides into the Texas desert on a mission of justice and revenge in this Western opus from Republic. The studio led the way over all the other studios at the time in delivering Westerns and serials loaded with action with Wayne as their major star. These films would prove to be Wayne's training for the success he would achieve three years later with Stagecoach.

Important Added Info: Note that John Wayne had his first chance at stardom in 1930 with "The Big Trail", and when that was not successful, he spent a few years in minor roles, and then became a major B-western star, and stayed that way until 1939, when he made "Stagecoach" and became a major star. At that point, all of his mid 1930s B-westerns were re-released, and no doubt that adds to the rarity of original lobby cards from those movies (many times, original movie paper from movies with quick re-releases is scarce, and B-western lobby cards from the mid 1930s were always scarce anyway, because few theaters likely ordered them). Original 1936 lobby cards from this movie are incredibly scarce!
