Note: It has been several years since we acquired an original lobby card movie poster for this Horror/Comedy classic.    But, its been even longer since we acquired what many believe this Best card of the set,  the Frankenstein coffin scene with both Bud and Lou.  * As a matter of fact, it is the ONLY card for this film to feature Both Bud and Lou together. .

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (Universal International, 1948). Fine/Very Fine. Lobby Card (11" X 14"). Horror.
Starring Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Lon Chaney Jr., Bela Lugosi, Glenn Strange, Lenore Aubert, Jane Randolph, Frank Ferguson, Charles Bradstreet, and Vincent Price. Directed by Charles Barton. A restored lobby card that displays signs of use. Prior to restoration it had light edge wear, a corner chip, and other surface wear. It displays well after the top right corner was replaced and airbrushed.

The creepers are after Bud and Lou in this who's who of terrific ghouls! By the time this picture was made, the careers of Abbott and Costello, one of the greatest comedy teams to ever work in motion pictures, were beginning to slump. At the same time, the monster series at Universal was starting to slide as well. A brilliant move on the studio's part was to cast their beloved monsters with their popular comedians in this hilarious spoof! Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney, Glenn Strange, and the voice of Vincent Price were the foils for the famous duo.

The Golden Age of Cinema produced only one woman who portrayed a "mad scientist." That's her, Lenore Aubert as Dr. Sandra Mornay, perfectly coiffed, clad in dinner dress and mink stole, and lovingly cradling the chin of Frankenstein (Glenn Strange). A concerned Dracula (Bela Lugosi) looks on. It's a card as fun as the movie itself, after you've unravel the subtext. CGC Encapsulated, Fine-Very Fine.
