Sports Memorabilia Collectibles Babe Ruth Signed Baseball Photos Memorabilia
Headin' Home, 1920

Original Vintage Lobby Card Movie Poster (11x14")
Starring Babe Ruth

Here is a piece of both Movie and Sports History you most likely have never seen!

An exceptionally rare lobby card from Babe Ruth's Hollywood debut
..  He was just a young 25 year old and relatively unknown and would become the most recognizable name in all sports. And as you sports collectors already know, 1920 was the infamous year of Babe Ruth's dreadful sale from the Boston Red Sox to the New York Yankees A move that would curse the Boston Red Sox, to the delight of Yankee fans everywhere, for 86 Years!    His name would reached such stratospheric, God-like popularity that people would one day pay a half a million $ to own a baseball he penned his name to!

This extraordinary find, shows the Babe in a striking close-up with Ruth Taylor (mother of Buck Henry) .  As far as we know only one other card from this film has ever surfaced on the market and it was a more distant image of Babe, not the clear, crisp close-up like this gem!   Needless to say, any paper from this film is a magnificent addition to any serious Sport or Vintage Movie Collection!    * See enlargeable image above

Headin' Home (Kessell & Baumann, 1920). Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Baseball icon Babe Ruth stars in his first feature film, made in the year he was sold to the New York Yankees. Ruth's immense popularity and superstardom, for both baseball fans and the general public, guaranteed a large audience for any project he took on, and they came in droves to see this drama. Lawrence Windom directed the picture under the supervision of Raoul Walsh, and Ruth Taylor (mother of Buck Henry) co-stars. The "Bambino" would star seven years later in Babe Comes Home, another popular hit. A CVTreasures first, this lobby features a great scene shot of Ruth and Taylor. There are pinholes in the borders, a corner bend at the bottom left, a small tear and crease in the right border, and tape on the verso. That said, amazing condition for a near 100 year old movie poster... Fine/Very Fine.
