The Pride of the Yankees (RKO, 1942). One Sheet (27" X 41").
One of baseball's most prolific figures, Lou Gehrig, is portrayed by Gary Cooper in this biopic of the life of 'Iron Horse,' directed by Sam Wood. Teresa Wright co-stars, along with the legendary Babe Ruth playing himself, in one of the greatest baseball films ever made.

In one of his most memorable roles, Gary Cooper stars as baseball legend Lou Gehrig, who not only conquered the Great American Pastime, but also heroically battled amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a deadly nerve disorder better known today as "Lou Gehrig's Disease." This motion picture, a tribute to a great sportsman that was released just over a year after the death of "The Iron Horse," is a favorite of both movie and sports buffs worldwide. The striking one sheet offered here

We're very pleased to finally fill a long standing request from many collectors; an original issue one sheet for one of the greatest baseball films ever made. This classic sports saga about the 'Iron Horse', Lou Gehrig, starred Gary Cooper and Babe Ruth, turning in a quite competent supporting role. Garnering eleven Oscar nominations, it was solidly directed by Sam Wood, a brilliant and often overlooked director who directed some of the best scenes in "Gone With the Wind."
