Three 3 Stooges Original Vintage Classic Film Posters Photos Memorabilia Collectibles For Sale
" Back from the Front", 1942
Original Vintage Columbia Short Promotional TYPE I Keybook Photo Still (8x10)
Starring The Three Stooges:  Moe, Curly, Larry

Very rare original vintage promotional Columbia Keybook photo still. Excellent condition with great provenance on reverse in the form of studio snipe and dated photographer stamp on reverse.

Note that ANY movie paper from this 1942 Stooges Columbia classic is incredibly rare. We have never previously had anything from this movie until we received this still! Also note that this still is a key book still, printed on a deluxe heavyweight paper stock. Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic.

Back has extraordinary provenance including dated studio stamp and studio snipe.  Very good-excellent condition

Note that this great key book still shows the Stooges with beards, and they are ridiculing the captain of the Nazi ship, who has a life preserver with both "S.S. SHICKELGRUBER" and a swastika on it!

BIO:
Back from the Front, the 1943 Jules White World War II (WWII) anti-Nazi slapstick comedy short ("A new high slapstick in comedy!"; "Story and Screen Play by Jack White [and] Ewart Adamson"; the Stooges are survivors of a sunken American ship during World War II; their life raft ends up floating them to a German Nazi battleship, and they must disguise themselves as Nazi leaders to capture the ship) starring The Three Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Curly Howard), Stanley Blystone, Neal Burns, Sally Cairns, Tom Coleman, and Heinie Conklin. Note that the one-sheet poster for this movie features a life preserver which has both a swastika and "S.S. SHICKELGRUBER" on it (Shicklgruber was the name that Adolf Hitler was said to have been born with, since his parents were never married and his mother 's last name was Shicklgruber)!
