A first for us, although we once had the alternate half sheet style, which was no comparison to this gorgeous vintage treasure!

Important Added Info: Note that John Wayne had his first chance at stardom in 1930 with "The Big Trail", and when that was not successful, he spent a few years in minor roles, and then became a major B-western star, and stayed that way until 1939, when he made "Stagecoach" and became a major star. At that point, all of his mid 1930s B-westerns were re-released, and no doubt that adds to the rarity of original posters from those movies . Original 1936 half-sheets are incredibly scarce. Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube . The condition of this 83 year old poster is quite extraordinary. * See enlargeable image above ..
Overall Condition: Very good . The poster was folded once in each direction and has creases on the horizontal fold, with a lesser amount on the vertical fold. It has pinholes around the edges and one below Wayne's eye, with one near the center of the poster and one in the middle of the right of the poster. There was a 1" tear in the right of the bottom border that was repaired with tape from the back and a 1" scratch mark slightly to the right of that. That said, this vintage movie poster is in exceptional condition! The last half sheets we had from this time period had substantial tape repairs. So, this gem of a find is particularly nice!

This is one of John Wayne's early Republic films, after they had acquired the Monogram/Lone Star banners. It features three shots of Wayne from the film, one with Wayne holding a rifle on his old antagonist, Cy Kendall. The central image is a large, terrific, portrait of Wayne looking directly at you! Great color for an unrestored 1930s poster, with only pinholes in the corners and border image, and just beneath his eye. There are small corner bumps and some small tears in the bottom border. Fine/Very Fine.
