Original Vintage Movie Theater Pressbook

LOST FILM

Very scarce Original Vintage 1934 Pressbook for this lost Chan film

Vintage Chan paper remains very popular among collectors and Chan buffs.  However, early paper like this from the early 30s with Warner Oland is Extremely scarce and RARELY ever appears on the market.      Posters with the Warner Oland (original and first Charlie Chan) are highly sought after.

Note: Pressbooks are particularly rare in the movie memorabilia hobby as they were only made available to movie theater owners to select which movie posters and lobby cards they wanted to purchase to display and advertise in their theater lobbies.

NOTE:  The prices of the posters in 1934?  A One sheet was 15 cents!   The only original vintage one sheet I could find that ever sold was in 2021 for for $5500.

Charlie Chan's Courage (Fox, 1934). Folded, Very Fine-. Pressbook (12 Pages, 12" X 18.5")
Earl Derr Biggers' Chinese detective Charlie Chan made another sensational appearance in this murder mystery from Fox. Warner Oland stars as the Chinese detective who disguises himself as a servant in order find the killer of ranch owner Jack Carter. . Unfortunately, this film is believed to be one of four Charlie Chan films that are lost. Warner Oland would star in the series for Fox until his untimely death in 1938 when Sidney Toler took over the role. This pressbook is fantastic with great images of Warner Oland as the master sleuth.   Unrestored with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as light edge and fold wear, slight spine wear, minute chips or tears, soft creases, or minor smudges.

Starring Warner Oland, Drue Leyton, Donald Woods, Murray Kinnell, Paul Harvey, Jerry Jerome, Harvey Clark, Si Jenks, Virginia Hammond, DeWitt Jennings, and Lita Chevret. Directed by Eugene Forde and George Hadden.
