Stan SIgns TWICE!!

Breathtaking iconic Comedy Duo signed photo from the collection of cartoonist Al Kilgore

Exquisite 11" X 14" sepia tone print (vintage unknown) signed by Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy in fountain pen. Stan has Signed the photo TWICE! In upper left a gorgeous bold vintage fountain pen ink "Stan Laurel" Stan than again inscribed an intimate sentiment to Al (Kilgore), "Happy Memories AL! Your Sincere Friend, Stan", indicating a close personal relationship. Oliver then signed in bold vintage fountain pen ink, "Oliver Hardy" to the right of his head. I once read that Oliver would sometimes clown around with people he personally knew and would sign his name upside down as he did here for Al..

This spectacular large size photo has a textured matte finish, both signatures are very clear, one in black, the other in blue ink. Family of the estate believe the Oliver Hardy dates from the mid 50's shortly before his death, and the Stan Laurel was added later, probably in the early 60's.

This amazing Vintage Laurel & Hardy Treasure came from the estate of the late AL KILGORE (1927 - 1983); cartoonist, humorist, caricaturist and one of the founding members of the Sons of the Desert (The Laurel & Hardy Appreciation Society), also well known for his work on the syndicated 'Rocky and Bullwinkle'. Al unfortunately died suddenly in 1983 at the young age of 55 of an embolism.. You can Google his name and read his WIKI page for more details.
