Superb 1860 Campaign Token Two-Sided Ferrotype

Lincoln & Hamlin: Superb 1860 Campaign Two-Sided Ferrotype. 24mm. A beautiful ferrotype in choice condition featuring a portrait of a clean-shaven Lincoln with his running mate, Hannibal Hamlin, on the obverse. Note the "beardless" Abe Lincoln.

Condition: The Lincoln has a small scuff on his chin but other than that is on quite nice condition. The Hamlin has a tiny spec and small chip below his tie but is quite excellent condition.

Description: 1" diameter gilt stamped brass frame portrait ferrotypes. Each side of frame stamped with name of candidate depicted in the corresponding portrait with date "1860." Frame holed at top for suspension.

Condition Report: Relatively nice condition... Both ferrotypes are bright. Scuffs on Lincoln's mouth and tip of nose. Small emulsion fleck on Hamlin's chin and chip below bow tie.

Note: The majority of these that appear on the market either have the images completely gone or severely disfigured. This is an exceptionally nice, rarely seen example!
