Incredibly Rare In-Person Autographed paperback edition of JFK's historical book "Profiles in Courage". This is the first paperback edition published in 1960, likely to coincide with his popularity as the Democratic Presidential Candidate. This piece has an amazing historic and intimate attachment to JFK for several reasons. Most importantly, on the inside of the cover is his beautiful bold in person signature NOT personalized to anyone. Often referred to as the "Campaign signature" this autograph is consistent with all other in-person encounters with JFK during the 1960 time period. The autograph has been authenticated by the leading autograph authentication service JSA and comes with the JSA Full Letter of Authenticity.
Also note, the recipient who met and presented this to JFK , notated the date and place JFK signed it, just TWO WEEKS before he would become the 35th President of the United States! re: “Oct 18, 1960 at Bayfront Aud. During pres campaign”. My research online confirmed JFK did have a rally at Miami Bayfront Park Auditorium in the Fall of 1960,.. Miami Newspaper quote, "..JFK who had appeared in Bayfront Park at a Presidential campaign rally in the fall of 1960."
Also, while there are a number of "Profiles in Courage" books that JFK signed, mostly hardcovers in the 1950s as Senator, this is the FIRST paperback edition (which unlike the hardcover, has a photo of JFK on the cover) we have ever seen autographed. An incredible find and possibly one of only a handful, possibly ONLY, paperback edition signed by JFK. The rarity is because the paperback edition was not published until 1960 when JFK's access was substantially limited due to the campaign and of course would become even more restricted, nearly impossible to have such an encounter with the paperback edition after he won the White House.

Presented here is a “Profiles in Courage” softcover book signed on the inside front cover in blue ink with a Nm signature. The autograph recipient in October of 1960 made notations written under the signature: “Oct 18, 1960 at Bayfront Aud. During pres campaign”. The book exhibits handling wear and is in Vg condition.
