Batman & Me
Original Bob Kane Autographed Book with Original Batman Drawing, 921/1000
Bob Kane

In 1939 a young 24 year old DC Comic artist by the name of Bob Kane had been tasked with developing a new Superhero to compete with other action heroes like Superman.  Hence, Bob Kane came up with an idea and called it "Batman".  And, the rest is history!

This is the first time in over ten years, we have acquired one of these limited edition Batman & Me Autographed books with an original batman bold, black marker drawing by Bob Kane.  Out of 2500 of these autographed limited editions, only the first 1000 included an original autographed Batman sketch by Bob Kane.  This gem is 921/1000...  Note: The book is autographed twice by Bob Kane, on the original Batman drawing and the bookplate with limited edition number.

First Edition; 1989. One of 1000 numbered copies signed by Bob Kane with an original ink drawing of Batman by Kane. The autobiography of the artist who created the immortal comic book character Batman in 1939

Kane, Bob:(American, 1915-1998): was the Golden Age comic book artist and writer, credited as the creator of the iconic DC superhero Batman. One of the most financially successful comic book creators, Kane worked much like a newspaper syndicate cartoonist, in that he often relied on or directed the efforts of a pool of uncredited creators, including writer, and some say Batman co-creator, Bill Finger, and artists Jerry Robinson, George Roussos, Shelly Moldoff, and Lew Sayre Schwartz. As Kane's DC comic book production tapered off in the sixties, he parlayed his Batman status into minor celebrity. He had a post-comic book career in TV animation, creating the characters Courageous Cat and Cool McCool. As an easel painter, he showed his work in art galleries. In 1989, Kane published his autobiography Batman and Me, with a second volume Batman and Me, The Saga Continues, in 1996.
