Dr Seuss "How The Grinch Stole Christmas", 1957
ORIGINAL Hard Cover Book with ORIGINAL Dust Jacket
Genuine 1st Edition- 1st State Dust Jacket

VERY RARE 1st Edition- 1st State Dust Jacket issue of this Iconic Christmas classic book.    Please research if you don't already know the difference between this Very Rare 1st Edition and later editions. Particularly become familiar with the 1st Edition Original DUST Jacket, which is what  makes this so rare and highly valuable and desirable.  IN ADDITION, most of the 1st edition dust jacket I found were in relatively poor condition compared to this fantastic gem, which has just the minimal handling wear at the top edge.

Note: These FIRST STATE JACKET EDITIONS are selling on Abe Books for up to $4000.

So HOW do you now this is the REAL FIRST STATE DUST JACKET EDITION?

First you could always purchase the definitive guide to Dr Seuss FIRST EDITIONS " First Editions of Dr. Seuss Books: A Guide to Identification", by Helen Younger, Marc Younger and Dan Hirsch.  But they are quite expensive (Amazon has them for about $200-500).
But, we have from that book the key characteristics to look for in "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" to confirm that it is indeed the REAL FIRST EDITION,  see below:

The first state jacket has the price of 250/250 on the front flap, and 14 titles listed on the rear flap. For the book there are 13 titles listed at end of pages.    **The points are boiled down best in the images below that read: first printing points
