It has been several years since we’ve acquired one of these Rare Highly Desirable Wizard of OZ original vintage lobby cards.
Note: For some inexplicable reason, these most coveted 1949 lobby cards have been extremely elusive in the marketplace, not appearing at auction for many years. Considered by seasoned collectors as the Best lobby cards of any of the three Oz theatrical releases.
Most of these 1949 lobby cards we find have significantly wear and tear form actual theatrical usage, including pinholes, torn off corners, stains, tears, etc. And hence many have been restored. Here is a choice find with just the right vintage look and minimal wear for a 75+ year old lobby card, that adds a nice extra layer of authenticity. . With just minor border wear and couple small minor border tears, but 100% ORIGINAL UNrestored! I have always found that right touch of vintage wear and toning to be very appealing with vintage movie posters.
Imagine 95% of these cards that surface require restoration to look this good. Here is an Original 100% Un-restored beauty!
It is on a rare occasion we acquire one of these 1949 re-release OZ lobby cards. We always believed they were superior to the original 1939 cards, the color, artwork , graphics are just spectacular.

Here we are offering one of the best cards of the set, "Lion Acts Tough" . This particular card was one of the rare OZ lobby cards, ONLY produced for this 1949 lobby card set. One of our favorites. You know the scene. A BEAUTY! The colors and contrast are exceptional on this vintage lobby card.
Note, how MGM Designed these cards with both Dorothy's dress AND the Yellow Brick Road in Red ?...VERY scarce card to find!
