VERY RARE VINTAGE Concert Poster Jackie Wilson, The Temptations, Chuck Jackson, Booby "Blue Bland (Posters Inc, Philadelphia PA). Very Rare. Window card printed on card stock for a show in Chattanooga, TN. Monday, September 20, 1965... The sensational artwork features a Large classic photo of a smiling Jackie Wilson and several other R&B stars.. The poster also lists some of his best known hits of the time "No Pity" and "I'm So Lonely.". The venue and date information is printed at the top of the poster.   SIZE: 22x28"

Note: This is larger than most concert posters, most are about 14x22".  This one measuring 22x28"..

RARE JACKIE WILSON, THE TEMPTATIONS 1965 CHATTANOOGA TENNESSEE CONCERT POSTER

22x28" on thin cardboard by "Posters Inc." Poster advertises a concert on "Mon. Sep. 20" 1965 at "Memorial Auditorium" in Chattanooga, TN. Headline "The Fabulous Jackie Wilson" w/songs listed "No Pity" and "I'm So Lonely." Additional acts include: Chuck Jackson; Bobby "Blue" Bland; The Temptations w/song "Since I Lost My Baby"; The Drifters; Maxine Brown; Yvonne Fair; Al 'TNT' Braggs and Eloise Hester. Bottom right corner has a 1x2" loss that barely affects the edge of the design. Faint damp stain in lower left quadrant, a less than 1" vertical tear at lower right affecting the "Inc." in "Posters Inc." Otherwise moderate handling and corner wear including light wrinkling and creasing. VG. Splendid graphics and an impressive line up makes this a true standout!

Extremely rare Original Concert Poster for 1995 show in Wichita, Kansas.  An extraordinary and particularly striking large image of the 50s/60s Rock music pioneer January 21, 1984 and legend.   One of the best R&B concert posters to appear on the market.     In the past 2-3 years Original Concert Posters from this genre and era have skyrocketed in demand and hence value.     In November 2017 a Jackie Wilson concert poster , not as beautiful as this one, sold for $9062, and in November 2017 a Fats Domino Concert Poster sold for $25,000.  One reason for the ultra rarity  of Original Concert Posters, was because only a handful were produced for local concert venues. And most were destroyed thereafter..     *  Based on our research this is the ONLY one of its kind in existence.

BIO:

Jack Leroy Wilson Jr. (June 9, 1934 – January 21, 1984) was an African American soul singer and performer. A tenor with a four-octave range, Wilson was a prominent figure in the transition of rhythm and blues into soul. Wilson was considered a master showman, gaining the nickname "Mr. Excitement", and one of the most dynamic singers and performers in pop, R&B, and rock & roll history.

Wilson gained initial fame as a member of the R&B vocal group Billy Ward and His Dominoes. He went solo in 1957 and scored over 50 chart singles spanning the genres of R&B, pop, soul, doo-wop and easy listening, including 16 R&B Top 10 hits, in which six R&B of the repertoire ranked as number ones. On the Billboard Hot 100, Wilson scored 14 top 20 pop hits, six of which reached the top 10. Jackie Wilson was one of the most important and influential musical artists of his generation.

A two-time Grammy Hall of Fame Inductee, and winner of the Rhythm and Blues Foundation's special Legacy Tribute Award in 2003, Jackie Wilson was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Jackie Wilson #69 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time..

On September 29, 1975, Jackie Wilson was one of the featured acts in Dick Clark's Good Ol' Rock and Roll Revue, hosted by the Latin Casino in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He was in the middle of singing "Lonely Teardrops" when he suffered a massive heart attack. When he collapsed on stage, audience members applauded as they initially thought it was part of the act... Clark sensed something was wrong, then ordered the musicians to stop the music. Cornell Gunter of the Coasters, who was backstage, noticed Wilson was not breathing. Gunter was able to resuscitate him and Wilson was then rushed to a nearby hospital.   However,  the lack of oxygen to his brain caused him to slip into a coma at age 40 and for the rest of his life his needed constant care in a nursing him facility.  Jackie Wilson dies at the young age of 49 on January 21, 1984.
