VERY RARE Original Vintage Concert Poster, 1961



Rare Gorgeous Original Vintage 1961 Concert Poster for Ray Charles Live Performance at Mosque Theater in Newark, New Jersey on April 27th, 1961.   Along with the Singing Raelets, and Betty Carter.   Terrific graphics, bright colors and fantastic image of legendary Ray Charles!  .  Excellent condition with just expected border wear.  Ticket venue apparently blacked out competing ticket venue locations.  * See enlargeable image above

A Very Rare find and exciting piece of classic Music History.   The first we have acqured in our 39 years collecting. 
Mr Charles pioneered the soul music genre during the 1950s by combining blues, rhythm and blues, and gospel styles into the music he recorded for Atlantic. He contributed to the integration of country music, rhythm and blues, and pop music during the 1960s with his crossover success on ABC Records.

Featured is a concert window card for the beloved Ray Charles performing at the Mosque Theater in Newark, New Jersey on April 27th, 1961. Performing with his augmented orchestra, The Singing Raelets, and Betty Carter, Charles played many of his hit songs such as "Georgia on My Mind," "What'd I Say," "One Mint Julep," and songs from his album "The Genius of Ray Charles."..    An unrestored window card with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as slight edge wear, light creases, minor paper lifts, some smudges and stains, or ink markings in the text of the imprint area.  (ticket venues would often black out their competition).
