Here is an extraordinary piece of history.  The greatest magician that ever lived , whose popularity today is even more then when he was alive 100 years ago...  An original SIGNED 1908 FIRST Edition from the original New York printer "The Publishers Printing Company" (not the later release from London).  

But, what also makes this incredible artifact so amazing is Houdini's extraordinary Large signature and long note to a personal friend.   He also initials it after the inscription (hence double signed).   In addition, this is the earliest Autographed copy of this book we have ever seen!  Signed and dated "May 20—1909", just a year after the book was published!  Plus he autographs it TWICE with initials at the end,   "To O. H. Kurts, with best wishes from the author, Harry Houdini, May 20—1909. May this book bring you good luck on your birthday tomorrow, H. H."

CONDITION:
Note the spectacular clarity, boldness and Size of this Houdini Vintage Ink Autographed Gem!    None of the typical fading, smudging, staining, poor contrast against dark background  most Houdini signatures have been subjected to.   Even the book is in excellent condition compared to most that appear on the market quite worn and ragged.     This is as good as it gets!

Authentic Houdini signed items (especially of this quality) don’t appear on the market very often, hence its been nearly two years since we’ve uncovered a worthy Houdini piece.  But as you can see here,  we have found one of the most exquisite autographed examples.   He most famous book with the most pristine bold vintage fountain pen signatures and handwritten sentiments you’ll ever come across.  A choice example for the most discerning collector and Houdini fan.   

Note:   With these intimate and very personal sentiments it was obvious these books were personally owned and gifted by Houdini himself and not signed during any type of book signing.

Signed book: The Unmasking of Robert-Houdin. First edition, first printing. NY: The Publishers Printing Company, 1908. Hardcover, 5.75 x 8.25, 319 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page in black ink, "To O. H. Kurts, with best wishes from the author, Harry Houdini, May 20—1909. May this book bring you good luck on your birthday tomorrow, H. H." .  Autograph is extraordinarily bold and large!    condition: fine.  Book condition is VG-Excellent.     
Houdini billed this controversial book as ‘the first authentic history of magic ever published,’ and contained within it an unflattering account of Houdini's legendary predecessor and namesake Jean Eugene Robert-Houdin, alleging that he had taken undue credit for other magicians’ innovations.
