A first for Cvtreasures !

Here is a Rare and Highly desirable vintage Sci Fi window card poster used in 1954 to promote what would become one of the most popular classics of the 1950s Sci Fi genre.   Very Good condition with expected wear and nice sepia toning.   Note the top blank border area for theater use has Not been trimmed off like most window cards.

* See enlargeable image above

Note: Window Cards were a popular form of movie theater promotion prior to 1980.   Before the 1980s most towns had a small local movie theater that would advertise the upcoming movies in various business like drug stores, barber shops ,etc where you would see these window cards displayed.   But like lobby cards and other versions of movie posters, Window Cards were eventually done away with as these small theaters were put out of business by the large corporations like Showcase and Epic.   Today only the one sheets have survived, which are still displayed outside and in the theater lobbies.   Making these extinct window cards most desireable collectibles and uinvestments!

Them! (Warner Brothers, 1954). Window Card (14" X 22").
In this science fiction classic by director Gordon Douglas, nuclear radiation transforms a colony of ants into giants that converge upon Los Angeles. Originally meant to be shot in color and 3-D, the film suffered last-minute budget-cuts from Warner Brothers due to cold feet. Despite unease, it would go on to be the highest grossing film of 1954, and take its place as one of the best entries in the giant mutated monster genre.
Starring James Whitmore, Edmund Gwenn, Joan Weldon, James Arness, Onslow Stevens, Sandy Descher, and Fess Parker. Directed by Gordon Douglas. An unrestored window card with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. It may have slight edge and fold wear, creases, toning, a noticeable paper lift in the lower right border. There are strips of cellophane tape on the top border, and a few strips of paper tape on the verso.  That said, a terrific vintage Sci Fi window card for one of the most sought after 1950s Sci movie posters.
