For 35 years collecting rare vintage movie memorabilia, the one highly desirable item that has eluded us are the 1939 “”Wizard of OZ” lobby cards.   We have acquired a number of the 1949 and 1955 theatrical re-release lobby cards, but never the original 1939 cards.  The primary reasons are because of the rarity (very few appear on the market, most were destroyed in the WWII paper drives) and the exorbitant price values, reaching as high as $10,000 each!    Hence, we've just never been able to get our hands on one of these gems , Until NOW!

Arguably the most revered and popular movie ever made, this spectacular 1939 “Wizard of OZ” , Emerald City scene in this vintage lobby card, was actually deleted from the final cut of the film .    A magnificent Oz treasure in all it’s glory featuring “Dorothy, Tin Man and Lion” in this particular lobby card scene.  Along with all the dancing Munchkins and Emerald City residents.   And, that striking border art of the tornado and flying house that was ONLY on the 1939 lobby cards!   In very good to excellent condition for it’s 75 years, with just some minor border corner pinholes and fragile corner tips that have been reinforced with tape from behind (see the vintage tape marks on enlargeable image below).   The image area is pristine with Exceptionally bright colors, not faded as is often seen.
