Well, HERE IT IS! A Special Vintage Rarity !

The #1 most sought after Abbott & Costello title and one of the most popular Vintage Universal Horror Classic movie posters.   The Gorgeous "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein" Original 1948 UNIVERSAL Half Sheet Movie Poster.
This is one of the most requested movie posters we get from customers.

The ORIGINAL "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein" Half Sheet  (22x28").     The stunning half sheet with spectacular artwork of the three iconic monsters and Bud and Lou.   And one of my personal favorites (the BEST poster created for A&C Meet Frank IMO).  Having collected Abbott & Costello since 1980 (my very first vintage movie poster acquisition was "Abbott & Costello Meet Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde" one sheet), I can say with confidence, THIS IS the one to own!    Especially since it RARELY appears on the market.

Excellent condition.   In excellent condition.   Has been professionally paper backed (as of 9-14-2019) and looks Amazing .  Prior to paper backing it had light fold lines, as ALL half sheets were folded by the studios.   However, unlike the other two we have owned in the past 39 years, this one had very light fold lines NOT the heavy, deep creased lines the others had.   The fold lines were barely noticeable.   Also, it didn't have the tears, missing border chips and other handling wear and damage the others had.  Just a few minor age related stains along horizontal fold.  Colors are bright and gorgeous (NOT faded) and didn't require any airbrushing as did the one that sold at auction in July 2018 for $3800.    See enlargeable image above.   Artwork is spectacular!

Note: There were two half sheets styles released by the studio to promote this film in 1948. Style A and Style B.    The Style B had the better larger images of the characters.  This is  the Style B version.

What else needs to be said about one of the greatest Universal Horror classics that brought together Bela Lugosi and Lon Chaney in their immortal roles as "Dracula" and the "Wolfman". And, Glenn Strange as "Frankenstein". As a matter of fact, it was the ONLY movie to ever bring the three most famous monsters together.

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (Universal International, 1948). Half Sheet (22" X 28") Style B.
By 1948, it was apparent that the Universal horror franchise was running out of steam, so the studio sent its iconic creatures out in high style with this comedy monster mash, largely considered the end of the Golden Age of Horror. All the great bogeymen of yesteryear are here: Dracula, the Wolfman, Frankenstein, and even, briefly, the Invisible Man, all pitted against the hapless duo of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello.  The result is movie magic, especially the performance of Bela Lugosi as Count Dracula, seen by many as his last great role before sliding into the tragic final phase of his life.

Lugosi, as well as Lon Chaney Jr. as Larry Talbot/the Wolfman and Glenn Strange as the Monster, are all in fine form here, scaring the whimwhams out of poor Lou. As part of the Universal Horror series, paper from this picture is extremely desirable.

This gorgeous half sheet is a Must for every Abbott & Costello, Vintage Movie, Universal Classic Horror fan or collector.  Or for anyone who just wants to proudly display an extraordinary and beautiful piece of History in their home or office

In 1948, two of Universal's big breadwinners -- the monster series and comedy duo Bud Abbott and Lou Costello -- could not halt a box-office and critical slump. But Universal decided to combine these disparate parts, and the "Abbott and Costello Meet the Monsters" franchise was born. Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney Jr. and Glenn Strange all signed on to reprise their famous horror roles, and even Boris Karloff did publicity for the film. It became the studio's second-highest grosser of the year and endures as a beloved fan favorite. A perennial popular item for collectors   Professionally preserved with paper backing and looks amazing!

A brilliant move on the studio's part was to cast their beloved monsters with their popular comedians in this hilarious spoof! Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney, Glenn Strange, and the voice of Vincent Price were the foils for the famous duo.

As part of the Universal Horror series, paper from this picture is extremely desirable.
