Beginning in 1931 with the first Chan film, “Charlie Chan Carries On”. The first Charlie Chan was actor Warner Oland, who made 15 films before his untimely death in 1938. Oland was replaced with Sidney Toler who made 22 Chan films before his death in 1947.
