One of the most historically significant and spectacular Original TYPE I Three Stooges photos we’ve ever acquired.
Note: 1934 was their Inaugural year and this was just their 3rd of 190 in Columbia Short series run, from 1934, "Men In Black".

What makes this photo so Extraordinary? First it was only their 3rd short film and considered by many to be their Best. Men in Black is the only Stooge film ever nominated for an Academy Award for Best Short Subject - Comedy. Also, the one sheet movie poster was the first Stooges poster to sell for over $100,000! Any original paper for this film, with one or two exceptions, is virtually non existent.
Has extraordinary provenance on the back with the original studio snipe along with Moe Howard’s ownership label. Note: Some photos in this recent discovered collection also have the "Norman Maurer" stamps on the back. Maurer along with his wife Joan Howard Maurer (Moe's daughter) owned the rights I believe in the late 50s early 60s.

Men in Black is a 1934 short subject directed by Raymond McCarey starring American slapstick comedy team The Three Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Jerry Howard). It is the third entry in the series released by Columbia Pictures starring the comedians, who released 190 short subjects for the studio between 1934 and 1959.
