"Dorothy Meets Glinda in Munchkinland"
This is a 1955 re-release Oz lobby card. It was the third and final theatrical re-release before CBS bought the rights in 1956 and made it an annual event and institution that brought the family together like no other. It was truly a magical like experience so highly anticipated once a year.. This is a great scene with Dorothy, Toto and Glinda (Billie Burke) meeting for the first time in Munchkinland. * Note this particular "Muchkinland" lobby card scene ONLY appeared in the 1955 release lobby cards.
Excellent condition with minor border wear. One of the BEST cards of the set. These 1955 Wizard of OZ Lobby cards appear on the market VERY RARELY. As a matter of fact, this one (and the other two we recently acquired) are the first we have acquired in nearly TEN Years!
Forget the eight Oscar nominations. One of the real reasons this wonderful film was entered into the National Film Registry is right here on this terrific lobby card. It's a frozen moment in time of one of the greatest moments in the long history of film. It's Dorothy and Toto with her new friend and Fairy Godmother , Good Witch "Glinda".as they met in the magical Munchkinland... . Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, Bert Lahr and Toto, were perfectly cast. Few collectors part with these cards once they have them, so don't miss this one!
Note: We recently acquired three lobby cards from the 1955 release of this iconic classic. See the others below under Similar Treasures You May Like. * See enlargeable image above
