With Extraordinary Provenance
In 1968 a young man graduated from the University of California. One of the guest speakers and honorary doctorate recipients was none other than Alfred Hitchcock. After the graduation ceremonies a number of people were invited to a reception at the Chancellor's house. At that reception was among several others, Alfred Hitchcock, this young man and his mother. In his letter of provenance (included), the young man (nearly 50 years later), recalls how he watched his mother "corner Alfred Hitchcock", to autograph the back of her UCAL Graduation Program. His letter goes into a little more detail of how he was feeling at that very moment , watching his mother talk to the greatest film director of all time.
And the result was an Amazing and beautifully executed famous pen profile sketch of Mr Hitchcock and his signature. With a pristine 9/10 signature on a clean white background. But, the story and documented provenance behind this exciting historical treasure is Priceless! As you may know, we Love solid provenance!
